Georgia Page, who represents Lindenwood University in Missouri, fell and injured her face in a match on Thursday. She got up, carried on playing and even made another tackle, before being taken off the pitch to get medical treatment. Page then rejoined the game in the second half.
Reminded of this by the Grohl thing so I guess I'll post it
That's fucking metal.
Ain't got time to bleed.
wtf, the game should have been immediately stopped and get her out to get fixed. the referee didn't handle this well imo. also you don't just spit blood on the field, for many reasons.
Thats the difference between a Football player and a Rugby player right there.
Never give up, never back down.

I'm not sure what the rules are for rugby sevens but usually it's up to the player to draw attention to it and the discretion of the ref to stop play for a substitution. The aim is to keep the game flowing so usually the ref has more important things to focus on.
I don't understand the big deal, this is standard procedure in Rugby. I mean, it's a pretty nasty one with all the blood pouring out of her nose so I suppose that's something. Most Rugby players end up breaking a nose or losing teeth in their career.
No matter what, you should stop if you have a broken nose. Further abuse to the broken nose can cause fragments to go up into the brain and induce brain damage. I mean, that's pretty rare, but considering tough sports like rubgy, the risk is high.
She's cute. What a fucking badass.
You're not allowed to continue playing if you are bleeding, I thought.
Rugby players are crazy people, like that guy who lost four teeth and a testicle after tearing his scrotum open, and he just asked the team doctor to stitch his nut sack back up so he could go back into play. Which he did, until he got a concussion in the same game later on.

a broken nose? Thats it. Thats weak compared to what some players continue on with. Hockey and Rugby players know little pain.
Yeah fucking causals. I once lost Russian roulette two rounds in a row and still kept playing.
Funny, but he's right, Rugby players routinely carry on games after having holes ripped into their ears from boot studs and shit.
Did Teddy Roosevelt just make it international law that if you're badly injured in any sort of public performance, you're not allowed to stop and go to a doctor?
Thats the difference between a Football player and a Rugby player right there.
*light tap on the shoulder, suddenly trips, flips like 5 times, explodes* "ARGHHH, MY EVERYTHING, IT HURTS"
That time of the month huh?

Not because the TV viewers can get the best experience, but to prevent fakers.
If she was considered one of the best players on the team, as a manager I would not let her get off the field without asking "Are you sure?" twice.
Thats the difference between a Football player and a Rugby player right there.
It wasn't always like that: Also there was that German Man' City player from back in the day that broke his neck mid-game during a cup final and played on, saving goals and the team went on to win.

Apparently if we go by the books, her team could have possibly even faced forfeiture for continuing playing while bleeding. She was taken off the field soon after ofc.. So, the inspiration here to be gained is that.. rules are to be broken? Lol. [editline]13th June 2015[/editline] Or rather, ignored in her case most likely.
Rugby has been my life for the last 15 years and this is nothing new or amazing. No player wants to go off for anything. I myself have played on with what turned out to be a fractured eye socket. I've seen players keep going after they've had their sack dislodged. I don't know if that's brave or stupid. Probably both. Rugby in the US is new, but I thought they still had rules under the IRB for blood and concussion replacements. Bad refereeing is all it is.
In any rugby I have played when you start bleeding that much they take you off until you stop, I've been taken off the field for my leg bleeding before, no rugby player wants to leave the field for that sort of thing but it is safer for everyone involved.
