• Direct correlation between Anime and being Single - Study in Japan finds

[release]Record numbers of young Japanese do not have boyfriends or girlfriends, and many do not want one, according to a survey by the country's government. Sixty-one percent of unmarried men aged 18 and 34 do not have a partner, nor do half of unmarried women the same age. The numbers have increased since the previous survey in 2005. Japan has one of the lowest birth rates in the world - and its population is on course to shrink dramatically by the middle of the century. So every five years the government carries out a detailed survey of attitudes to sex and marriage. The latest found that 61% of unmarried men aged 18 to 34 have no girlfriend, and half of women the same age have no boyfriend - a record high. More than a quarter of the men and 23% of the women said they were not even looking. Some cited a shortage of money, others a belief that it is impossible to find a good partner once they had passed the age of 25. Many of the women also said single life suited them better than how they imagined marriage would be. The survey also found that more than quarter of unmarried men and women between 35 and 39 years old said they had never had sex.[/release] http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-15915118
who needed a study
The land of virgins, facepunch will fit in nicely there.
I believe the term to describe the phenomenon is "greying".
Uguuuu~
This could be bad for them in the future, underpopulation is as serious a problem as overpopulation for the economy, and as far as I know there is little immigration into Japan.
please don't twist the news title like that i was scared
Explains the fucked up Japanese drawn porn.
Japan is a demographic time bomb. It is honestly kind of scary to think of a society so old.
Otaku over there are shunned a hell of a lot more than the average weeboo in a Western country, so hardly surprising.
This has nothing to do with anime, in fact the article makes no mention of it or any similar thing regarding otakus.
yeah title was very misleading. very misleading indeed. not a single mention of anime in the link.
who cares anime is still dumb
Um....what
sounds like a lovely culture I've never, ever been able to get into most anime.
Boys, we're going to Japan. Yeeeaaaaaaah
Did someone say anime??? [editline]28th November 2011[/editline] *_*
Well it's not like when you think of Japan you think they really need more people
Anime made popular in China, over-population no longer a problem. But really, this is just fucked up.
Considering populations are said to slowly decrease when the country becomes properly developed, I see this as probably being the later stages of an MEDC
But who needs a girlfriend when I have mai waifu @_@~
But who needs a girlfriend when I have mai waifu @_@~
Uguu~~ T_T
About half of the men are single, and about a quarter think a search is worthless... and about half of the women are single, and about a quarter think a search is worthless... They're perfect for each other!
Well it's not like when you think of Japan you think they really need more people
Oddly enough... yeah. Don't they have some of the highest people-per-square-kilometer ratios or something like that? I know that the place is really crowded.
who cares anime is still dumb
I was going to post a video. But then I noticed that your name is "Kai-ryuu". I don't need to say anything to make fun of you.
I wonder, how much money could a matchmaking service in Japan make?
Those services are a load of shit, no one with half a brain would use one.
kinda sad when you think about i think everyone deserves a chance at love
kinda sad when you think about i think everyone deserves a chance at love
I would highly disagree.
article says nothing about anime. i hate this section and its misleading titles
omg u baka americans. i am true japanese and waiting for my perfect otaku waifu.
Maybe people who are single, find anime to be a good hobby, not the other way around?
Those services are a load of shit, no one with half a brain would use one.
Excuuuuuse meeeeee but I found my soulmate on OkCupid and we're planning on spending the rest of our lives together. :colbert: Even if everything won't go as we want, matchmaking services are still not bullshit.
