When it ends its five-year run, Lucasfilm owner Disney is expected to move the animated spinoff to its own Disney XD network The Clone Wars likely are coming to an end -- at least on Cartoon Network spinoff TV version of Star Wars has been a solid performer on the Turner Entertainment-owned Cartoon Network for the past five years, but that run will almost certainly come to an end after the current season in the wake of the deal for Disney to acquire George Lucas' company for $4.05 billion. PHOTOS: When You Wish Upon a Death Star: The Surprising Symmetry of Star Wars and Disney Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Turner, a division of Time Warner, has the license for Star Wars: The Clone Wars only through the end of the 2012-13 season. Each year it has renewed its deal with Lucasfilm, and reps for both companies say they will make a decision on continuing the show around the end of the season. In reality, Disney is very likely to move Clone Wars to one of its own networks, most likely Disney XD, an advertiser-supported cable TV channel targeted at boys. In a conference call Wednesday after the sale of Lucasfilm was announced, Disney CEO Robert Iger said he sees big possibilities for Star Wars content on the Disney/ABC owned TV channels. He particularly cited Disney XD as a perfect home for a Star Wars show, although he stopped short of mentioning Clone Wars. Clone Wars has been one of the highest-rated shows on Cartoon Network, even with a move to Saturday mornings this season. For the month of October, Star Wars: The Clone Wars ranked No. 1 in its time period among boys 9-14 and posted double-digit gains across kids and boys vs. last year -- kids 2-11 grew by 46 percent, kids 6-11 by 34 percent, kids 9-14 by 64 percent, boys 2-11 by 45 percent, boys 6-11 by 36 percent and boys 9-14 by 72 percent, according to a Turner spokesperson.
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/star-wars-clone-wars-leave-385661 It'll probably become a Disney sitcom on Disney Channel
That show was always kinda eh anyway, the old 2003 samurai jack esc- one was better.

The old one is great, but I like this one since the Clones actually do more stuff in it. The new show is cheesy sometimes, but so was the old one :v:

Some of it was fantastic, and in some ways, I think I like the Clone Wars characters more than their Trilogy versions.
That show was always kinda eh anyway, the old 2003 samurai jack esc- one was better.
This. Though their were some moments in the new clone wars that were pretty kickass to watch (like the sky battle over quell).
That show was always kinda eh anyway, the old 2003 samurai jack esc- one was better.
Indeed it was.
I still can't believe this Clone Wars bullshit has gone on for this long. In my honest opinion it's probably one of the biggest pieces of garbage associated with Star Wars ever.

[editline]2nd November 2012[/editline]
That show was always kinda eh anyway, the old 2003 samurai jack esc- one was better.
It was designed and animated by the same people who did Samurai Jack.
That show was always kinda eh anyway, the old 2003 samurai jack esc- one was better.
I'd rather just watch Samurai Jack again to be honest.
Indeed it was.
I wish that I was old enough to fully appreciate this when I first watched it. That must have been at least five years ago, if I remember correctly.
They're both good, really.

Yeah, they were both great for not pulling punchers. Fuckers died left and right in those shows. They had droids merrily cracking open escape pods to kill the survivors at one point, for christ's sake.

Everything was a slaughterfest with him around.

It'd be more like Darth Maul and Obi-Wan fight every week and Jar Jar becomes the main character of the show.
rip
When I read the title, I immediately thought "Yes! No more of that horrible series!" Was dissapointed.
It's not horrible by any means.

Or do you want them to shit all over the EU as well? I mean they are doing that anyway, but at least it's semi contained.
I liked the later episodes especially the one with the clones and general whats-his-face who ends up having them kill each other in some pretty gritty battle sequences its one of the few kids shows off the top of my head which kills off people on-screen whilly nilly the only real gripe I've had was some of the voices and dialogue. knowing disney, they'd dumb the action a tad
The current season and the 2-3 before it are the best this series ever had. Its a lot better, then it was in the first 2 seasons, its less of a kids show now and more of the Teenagers show. Plus it got pretty damn dark at times. Darth maul discribed in detail he would slowly kill Obi-Wan. Kind of brutal.

Jar Jar Bink adventures.
