Tyler Kost
PHOENIX (KSAZ) -
19-year-old Tyler Kost appeared in a Pinal County courtroom Monday. His attorneys are pushing to have the social media records of his accusers put into evidence in the case.
They argue Facebook Group Chat messages between some of his accusers prove he is not a serial rapists. Instead, they say he is a victim of a shocking conspiracy perpetuated by the girls who were out to get him.
"Over a year ago Mr. Kost was publicly accused of being a serial rapist. What we know now is that there was a group of girls who conspired against Tyler to put him in jail. They succeeded in that, and Tyler has now been in jail for over a year based on those lies," said Christine Whalin, Kost's attorney.
In their motion, the defense team included some of the group Facebook messages obtained by Pinal County Sheriff's Office detectives between the alleged victims one week before the allegations were reported. Saying; "Tyler needs to be taught a lesson" and "We should sacrifice him to Satan."
Another exchange read; "Let's (expletive) with his mind and car" and "Exactly, I'm down.", along with "Yes, I already know this is going to be so much fun!"
"We should sacrifice him to Satan" what the fuck
I'm curious as to what would drive some people to completely ruin someone's life by doing this.
I'm curious as to what would drive some people to completely ruin someone's life by doing this.
Maybe he dumped one of those AND managed to anger another one of those.
A kid was put in jail for a whole year just based on lies they made.
That's fucking sick. The concept of 'innocent until proven guilty' is a very flexible one depending on the crime, innit
i dont understand how its okay to publicly release peoples photos and names like that in the usa
why the fuck
Cool, so get the kid out because it's pretty obvious he didn't do it, then I hope he actually ruins those lassies and extracts every penny from them for as long as legally possible.
Not necessarily. He could've raped one of them and the rest jumped on board, for instance.
At first I came in here expecting an actual rape, then I read and I already want to smack some bitches
Not necessarily. He could've raped one of them and the rest jumped on board, for instance.
The truth will only be known after the re-trial or whatever it is will be finished.

What's really scary is, that these people have the most trivial reason and are most of the times just bored.
"We should sacrifice him to Satan" what the fuck
What? Doesn't everyone do that to people who dare commit transgressions against them?
If it's proven that he is innocent, the perpetrators need to be raped by law.
One year in prison isn't so bad, compared to how much money he'll be suing them for...
As for why the girls would make the abuse allegations up, Kost's lawyer says the goal was to "Take revenge for him being a player."
He likely won't get shit.
blankquote
They need a decent long sentence in prison if that's the case.
One year in prison isn't so bad, compared to how much money he'll be suing them for...
It's doubtful he will get a good compensation, based on previous similar cases.
If it's proven that he is innocent, the perpetrators need to be raped by law.
That's only if he was found guilty, served his time and later found innocent. Then he could legally rape.

The bias is against him. They'll be fined and released with a slap on the wirst.
"Girl 1: Oh well, for Tyler what were you all thinking
Girl 2: He needs to be taught a lesson
Girl 3: We need to come up with a plan. And yes. We should sacrifice him to Satan.
Girl 4: We'll teach him a lesson alright.
Girl 2: Yes!!!
Girl 3: Agreed >:)
Later in the conversation:
Girl 3: Lets (expletive deleted) with his mind and his car
Girl 2: Exactly. I'm down (:
Girl 3: Yes!! I already know this is just gonna be so much fun! <3
Girl 4: We should do everything he's ever done to a girl to him. Except rape him cause he's gross.''
the convo. particularly the last line is pretty interesting. sounds like vigilante justice at what they say is legitimate rape
I'd kind of like to see the full chat logs, it's not hard to make something incriminating by snipping out the context, that's kind of a lawyer's job.
Also this article doesn't say anything about the evidence that the prosecution has, which would also be useful information.

lol wtf how does this prove he didn't do it. as far as i know no decision has been made and i'm sure his lawyers have more than just a facebook chat log

If it's true they lied it's a terrible thing they did but Jesus dude come on
If it's true they lied it's a terrible thing they did but Jesus dude come on
False rape accusations are awful, they should get punished hard for that. (if they are proven guilty) I have zero sympathy for people who falsely accuse others. Or is the problem here that I used the word rape in the context of harsh punishment for a crime? I obviously do not wish literal rape upon them or anyone, that's horrible.

I think the way you worded it implied that you thought their sentence should be to get raped, rather than that the law will rape them. Generally speaking, nowadays when somebody says 'rape' they only mean it in the sense of unconsented sexual intercourse, rather than its traditional meaning of a vicious action.

Oh in that case I apologize. English isn't my native language so I sometimes have trouble putting stuff together. What makes sense to me gets misunderstood by others. No, their sentence should not be to get raped, that's fucking sick.

Still grounds for a retrial, this brings into question what was previously decided.
It's something you can base part of your case on and it's certainly grounds for going back to court.
One year in prison isn't so bad, compared to how much money he'll be suing them for...
In addition to the fact that even if proven innocent, his reputation will forever be tarnished by the fact that he was accused and his name spread across the nation? People accused of crimes should have their name protected until they're convicted, since for heinous crimes, even if not convicted, the simple accusation can ruin your reputation.
Also he won't get shit.
i dont understand how its okay to publicly release peoples photos and names like that in the usa

Because criminal courts are public information for anyone over the age of 18 (and in some rare juvenile cases). You could walk into the court and get a copy of the record and complaint for any case you wanted
lol wtf how does this prove he didn't do it. as far as i know no decision has been made and i'm sure his lawyers have more than just a facebook chat log
It puts reasonable doubt to the accusations. It shows that they did in fact conspire against him, and that's not all of the chat log.
The logs don't necessarily disprove the accusations outright, but they prove the girls had a problem with him and wanted to work together to ruin his life.
Since there's proof that they conspired against him, they should have to counter with solid evidence, since now their word alone isn't enough.

there were only 3 of the 13 accused involved in that convo, they couldn't find evidence that the others were involved
One of the girls attempted suicide and two left the state to get away from the dude. I seriously doubt this is all a massive conspiracy against him
