Because the last one ended in a tie and our politicians hate eachother, we have to vote again, the date of voting is the 26th of next month.

Unidos Podemos (Podemos+IU) - United we can (We can+UL)

Political Science Professor Pablo Iglesias has moderated his tone and his proposals in an attempt to win votes from the moderate left and have a chance of becoming Prime Minister.
Their calls for social reform and their opposition to austerity measures have resonated with the struggling working-class, but the other parties have warned of a Syriza style catastrophe.
Podemos is the only major party in Spain that supports a referendum on Catalan sovereignty.
Unidos podemos is the coalition formed between Podemos and United Left, United left contains the original socialist party, the communist party and many more.

PSOE - Spanish Socialist worker's party.
[T]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/16/Pedro_Sánchez_en_Mérida_(5).jpg[/T]
Pedro Sánchez is the new leader of the Socialists, who fight to stay relevant and avoid being overtaken by Podemos from the left and Ciudadanos from the right.
The socialist party tried to form a coalition with the right winged party ciudadanos, something that got an extremely bad reception from party members, the coalition failed it's investiture voting, a first in the history of democracy.

Partido Popular - The People's Party.

The party in government of Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy will likely be again the most voted party in the elections, but he's not expected to win.

Ciudadanos: Partido por la ciudadania - Citizens: Party for citizenry.
[T]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5a/Albert_Rivera_-_04.jpg[/T]
Can a 36-year-old called Albert, rather than Alberto, become the next Prime Minister of Spain? Barcelona-born Albert Rivera's poor showings in the debates, coupled with Pablo Iglesias' strong performances, have meant Ciudadanos has plummetted in the polls and is now a distant fourth.
A liberal party in the European sense with a strong unionist stance, Ciudadanos appeals to the urban middle-class but struggles to set a foothold in decisive rural areas.
Rivera tried to form a coalition with PSOE, but the investiture voting failed, a first in the history of democracy.

Notes
Podemos and Citizens are the only party that have their electoral programmes in other languages, and Podemos is the only one that has all their stuff in English.
My predictions are as they follow:
- Unidos Podemos will become the second political force by votes, this is very likely since Podemos got really close to PSOE last elections and united left's votes are around a million.
- PSOE will get third, Ciudadanos will be irrelevant this time around
- PSOE will end up accepting a coalition with Podemos.

Are those pro Catalonia parties actual making headway or are they just regional powers?
Are those pro Catalonia parties actual making headway or are they just regional powers?
Well, Podemos is pro-catalonian referendum, but they are not pro-independence, they believe that catalonia should have the freedom to do with itself whatever it wants, but they also don't want an independent catalonia, they do have a lot of power from catalonia, but since Podemos' votes count less than say, the socialist workers party's even if by joining forces with United Left they get more votes they are not going to get as many seats.
I think the party with the most valuable vote is the People's Party atm.
Here we go again

slow news day
For those of you who don't speak spanish, Albert rivera is usually said to be into cocaine, although this was obviously a joke made by Juan Carlos Monedero a few months after he left Podemos.
The kid says that his nose itches when he asked if he knows who Rivera is.
Got the voting card today.
Do you know if there have been any important changes of electoral programmes? I haven't checked yet.

Not that I know of, Podemos is still the same, PSOE and C's should be the same, but if you vote Podemos remember you are voting IU too, so you should look into their programmes.
TBH I can see PSOE performing Seppuku and allowing a PP + C's government, maybe even entering it.
And that could be a favourable scenario for the long term, as it'll allow the emergent left forces to consolidate. As long as nobody pulls a Tsipras and pussies out when pressured by the EU (bad move not going by Varoufakis last July, a precedent would be a good thing to have).
Oh well, at least the radical xenophobic right is not on the rise here, guess it never leaving has something to do.

Hmm I really cant see PSOE voting for a cs pp coalition, then again this is the psoe we are talking about.
[editline]3rd June 2016[/editline]
Expect them to lose a lot of militant votes because of their failed investiture attempt with Rivera.

Oh look at that, taxes being lowered!
Then we can add it to the 8 previous years of "taxes being lowered" (didn't)
There's only one thing of his program that he WILL push for, I can assure that:
26. Promoverá una reforma electoral para que gobierne la lista más votada en el ámbito municipal para respetar la costumbre de que solo forme gobierno la opción más votada.
//
He will promote an electoral reform to get the most voted list (party) municipally to respect the tradition of only the most voted party forming a government
Time to check PP off the list (not that it was there anyways)

What does this mean exactly? that he most voted party gets a president independently of anything else?
For Podemos supporters: Why would a government including them not result in a Syriza-style situation?
And was the Syriza situation anything but a double standard with plenty of bullying?
The EU as it is nowadays is a fucking bank-driven dictatorship, with polls without meaningful changes. Tsipras' mistake was submitting rather than risking it AFTER being defiant.
For the simple reason that Spain is way less fucked than greece.
And also, they tried to force varoufakis to accept a deal that would come back in the long run, even if Podemos supports syriza they are not really the same party.

Thursday Antena 3 will show the female debate
http://www.antena3.com/noticias/espana/elecciones-generales/26-j/antena-3-emite-el-debate-las-mujeres-primero-el-proximo-jueves-a-las-2240-horas_2016060457532d784beb2837bbfd0cc9.html
And I think they are also doing another economically-centered debate, I didn't quite catch it, but I think Alberto Garzón is going to be in that one.
and if I'm not mistaken they are doing an actual 4 way debate with each party and it's candidate, let's hope Mariano does not retract this time.
btw, anyone got dates for those events?
Who saw the four way debate the other day? I thought it was better than I anticipated.
Everyone destroyed rajoy, let's face it, the man is not made to debate.

I didn't because I guessed something like that was going to happen, and some other channel was playing an action movie.
Then the following day I went into forums to see the new dank memes with shots of the debate.
Did any of them say anything new at all? (You know, other than the usual "we'll jail corrupts","we'll make them pay [del]for the wall[/del] back everything they took","we'll help education a looººooot" "gender equality! giving more advantages to women! woo!","healthcare for everyone" mumbo jumbo)

I was only able to catch bits and pieces because I was watching the ubisoft e3 conference that happened at the same time.

Well, less than 24h until we have new PM... or not.
I should start reading the programmes again.
Well, less than 24h until we have new PM... or not.

We won't have a new PM, we will have to wait for the investitures.
Survey results are in,
PP first with 117-121,
Podemos with 91-95,
PSOE with 81-85,
Ciudadanos with 26-30.
Which means that, once again, even mixing PP and C's, there wouldn't be an absolute majority ( 151 < 176). #18Diciembre
Of course, those surveys always have a considerable amount of changes, and 20Dec ones were also misleading too. But eh, food for thought...
[editline]26th June 2016[/editline]
1/3 counted in: PP 131, PSOE 92, UP 69, C'S 27.
A very small amount of big cities has been counted, though.
Arriba españa.

Also I think Madrid is still somewhat low
[editline]26th June 2016[/editline]
For future reference;
54% -> PP 134, PSOE 92, UP 70, C'S 29.
[editline]26th June 2016[/editline]
2/3% -> PP 135, PSOE 90, UP 71, C'S 29.
[editline]26th June 2016[/editline]
3/4% -> PP 136, PSOE 89, UP 71, C'S 29.
[editline]26th June 2016[/editline]
Madris is at less than 50% scrutinized, oh man.
we could have prevented this
