The shower will be far more dense than most, with predictions of 100 to 400 meteors per hour. The meteor shower will have the greatest visibility from the US and Canada, and will appear to originate from a point in the sky near Polaris, the north star.
I hope I can see it, I've never seen one before
I have highschool graduation on that night. It will be in the football field, I think We might be able to see it :D
[...] greatest visibility from the US and Canada. [...]
Any words/maps about Europe anywhere? I'll be in a place with slightly lower light pollution that weekend, maybe I'll see something.

Wow, awesom- ...Fuck.
100-400 per hour holy shit.
Yay, best 18th birthday present :)
And then it turns out they all will land on Earth.
Meteor showers are pretty awesome, just as long as some of the big meteors don't end up hitting anyones home or car.

Any reports about Europe? Weather'll be clear and I wanna see some space.
I live in a shitty little village in scotland with no light pollution for at least 15 miles, chances on me being able to see this?
And like all celestial events, the weather will go from clear skies to miraculously cloudy in a matter of minutes as it nears the time it is supposed to really start Such is life in a temperate climate Edit: Also, dangit nature! Why not tomorrow?? I leave for a camping trip today, and it would've been the fucking bomb if it were to happen the night I am going to be where there is very little light. :/
Wow! The one night I get to see such a thing, because the sky is clear as crystal.... ........... But there's too much light pollution to see anything significant and it's not like I can just drive out to the middle of nowhere at 3 AM in a sketchy neighborhood. Fuck everything. Every celestial event so far this year I have missed either due to weather or total light pollution.
clouds

I watched a meteor shower last night with some buddies, didn't see too many, about 10-15 total over a couple hours then one big one. Pretty cool though, haven't watched a meteor shower since a big once back in the 90's.
Same here, kind of disappointing because it was really hyped up for a bit. I was outside for 3 hours and probably only saw 1-2 semi large ones and a couple tiny faint ones. I did see a few small dot of light appear and disappear, which are the comets coming straight at us. Which I guess is sorta cool. Tried to snap pictures of the night sky too but my camera lens kinda sucks for that.
FUCK. I forgot about this and didn't watch. Please tell me someone took video.
I went outside in the dark and still didn't see shit. It was starry as fuck though. Then it got cloudy.
