Mr Gulen denies any involvement in the coup attempt. The resignation of more than 1,500 university deans has also been ordered by Turkey's high education board.
Source Things just keep on getting more and more shady in Turkey.
Yeah, this whole thing was a set up. Now they're purging the intelligentsia? Erdogan had this all ready to roll, I don't know how anyone can deny that anymore.
what the fuck happened to turkey
Well I think this pretty much confirms that Ergodan pulled a false flag and is going full on dictator. Still, I'd be surprised if people didn't continue to deny it.
what the fuck happened to turkey
Erdogan happened This is a good example of how a man can destroy a whole country
Like i said in the Coup thread, this is a set up.

Does EU need to build a wall?
Civil war when? Hopefully the wikileaks papers shed some light to the populus.
Don't think it was actually a false flag, more likely he knew in advance and wanted to use it for political gain
I think that's really what he means, no one believes that he manufactured the elements who wanted to force a coup, but I think everyone feels they were manipulated into going through with it to provide the basis of his purges. I also suspect that their numbers were probably bolstered with loyalists playing along due to the shady stuff surrounding the interception of the presidential jet.
Sad to see Islam destroy a once secular country right before our very eyes. This is similar to what happened in Iran/Afghan. I hope the Turkish people fight back.
Dilma is defending this guy what a madwoman Why would Erdogan implode his own country when they're on the verge of war with the Kurds, ISIS and Russia is beyond me
Maybe he's trying to summon a powerful demon using the Turkish people as sacrifices
Maybe he's trying to summon a powerful demon using the Turkish people as sacrifices
I hope Kemal Mustafa rises from his grave and beats the living shit out of Erdogan.
Does EU need to build a wall?
We need secure, strong borders. Right now Turkey is using border security as leverage because they know the EU is constrained when it comes to securing its borders. It's time to put political correctness aside and actually secure our borders. We have the technology (UAVs, smart mines, sensors, etc) to do it cheap, efficient, and cost-effective.
smart mines
Don't start with this drivel. Mine fields are a one way ticket to murdering civilians
Sad to see Islam destroy a once secular country right before our very eyes. This is similar to what happened in Iran/Afghan. I hope the Turkish people fight back.
you blatantly have no idea what you are talking about now please, at least read the news before posting
Sad to see Islam destroy a once secular country right before our very eyes. This is similar to what happened in Iran/Afghan. I hope the Turkish people fight back.
Sadly many turks support what he's doing.
you blatantly have no idea what you are talking about now please, at least read the news before posting
Erdogan is a conservative Islamist who is purging out his political opposition. Sounds to me like a dictator in the making.
Don't start with this drivel. Mine fields are a one way ticket to murdering civilians
You know who has landmines? Turkey. We currently depend on their (unsafe) landmines whether you like it or not. We can make a safer alternative which can be switched on and off. No-one will cross if they know there are mines. And if they do then it's their fault and not ours, we warned them. It will force people to take legal routes instead of evading border control checkpoints (which only illegal people would do). When a flood of people try to come here, you can switch those on and no-one will dare crossing, believe me.
When a flood of people try to come here, you can switch those on and no-one will dare crossing, believe me.
So let's murder civilians and give people a reason to hate. Nice job. Please never enter politics.
Does EU need to build a wall?
We already have fences.
Dilma is defending this guy what a madwoman Why would Erdogan implode his own country when they're on the verge of war with the Kurds, ISIS and Russia is beyond me
Did you expect any less from Dilma tho?
How long until all the teachers in Turkey are replaced by Islamic clerics? [editline]19th July 2016[/editline] Turkey going into a civil war would be a disaster but it's the only way to get rid of Erdogan and his ugly pedo stache.

Step by step, heading towards extremist theocracy. Dark ages Ahoy!
Sounds to me like a dictator in the making.
He is, but at most is using islam as a tool. islam did not cause this, this guy is a dangerous man who is striving for more power and is stopping at nothing to get it. So even if we set aside the moral issues of violently blowing people up just for trespassing (and btw, mines are not known for their clean quick kills, they are frankly inhumane) the mines may not work anyways. if we set 1000 smart mines, and 5% do not turn off when we send the signal, then 50 are still active and may still kill people. actually, what if someone manages to hack said mines and use them against us? there are too many problems with this solution
He is, but at most is using islam as a tool. islam did not cause this
His supporters are driven by religion (Islam). He ordered them to go out into the streets and risk dying which they happily did while shouting "allahu akbar" and climbing onto military tanks.
stupid post about failure rates
Obviously don't use models that have a terrible failure rate? The whole point of my post was that we now have the technology to reinvent and develop on ideas that didn't work so well in the past. If the government makes demand for 100% success rate, smart, safe mines for border control then you'll have dozens of companies ready to pitch their models. All this to stop those damn brown people from getting into our beautiful white countries. It's fucking awful, you are awful, and you should feel awful.
Snip
I don't like the idea of mass immigration either but mines have proven countless times to be a terrible idea (look at Croatia for example, in which people still die every day). Even if a thing such as a 'smart mine' existed, it would still be highly dangerous. The only way to stop mass immigration is to send everyone back without exceptions, but doing that would be considered as a crime against humanity. So we'll have to deal with it another way, and for the love of god not the way it is going right now because all the indecisiveness off all European politicians is making it worse than it could've been.
Okay John Kerry, you know your statement about taking them out of NATO? It's time to seriously consider it.
