May Day commonly sees organized street demonstrations and street marches by millions of working people and their labour unions throughout most of the countries of the world — though, as noted below, rarely in the United States and Canada.
It's also a national holiday in many countries, so there might be a celebration near you:
May 1 is a national holiday in more than 80 countries: Albania, Armenia, Argentina, Aruba, Austria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, China, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iraq, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Nigeria, North Korea, Norway, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, the Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Serbia, Sweden, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
In short, it's a day to give thanks to the workers who keep the world running. It's also a popular time for rallies of socialist and communist groups, since both are closely affiliated with the labor movement. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and support your friendly neighborhood proletarians!
Communist parade day. I think I'll stay home.

Australia's Labor day is in two days, May 2
I don't see Britain/Great Britain/United Kingdom on that list of countries, but I have Monday off because of this. Does England not do it or something? I know it's not an enormous deal here but why isn't it on the list?
