The trailer was due to debut as a special sneak preview in IMAX theaters on Monday, April 20. Instead, a version with Portuguese subtitles leaked on YouTube and was quickly taken down, but not before it quickly made its way all over the internet. When reached by BuzzFeed News, a spokesperson for Warner Bros. did not have any comment.
http://www.buzzfeed.com/adambvary/batman-v-superman-trailer-leak#.ep7kEaXQe Trailer in the link!
Does anyone actually want Batman vs Superman movies?
As dark and gritty as expected, but still a cool trailer! I'm trying not to get my hopes too high, but I know my friends and I will be seeing this opening weekend.
Does anyone actually want Batman vs Superman movies?
No, but I'll go see it anyway.
Does anyone actually want Batman vs Superman movies?
Kind of a tricky question. DC lore is rich and fun and cool-- they've built a huge universe and populated it with a lot of neat shit. I want to see as much of it as possible, live action or animated, because I'm into it. My fear with live-action releases, however, is that they have to appeal to a much broader audience than animated stuff due to the massive costs of producing a modern blockbuster. That mass appeal may mean making certain sacrifices that won't sit well with "true" fans. Characters may be simplified, lore may ignored, entire thematic elements may be completely retconned in favor of more easily explainable or flashier elements. Worst of all, in my opinion, the entire "feel" of the inspired works might be off. For example, my biggest fear with the Justice League movies is that they'll be way too serious. All the costuming and trailers and information we've gotten so far (not to mention Man of Steel) are painting this dark, ugly, gritty world, and while the Justice League universe has dark and gritty elements, it's balanced out with a lot of fun and humor. You can't have characters like Barry Allen and Hal Jordan with five-day beards, wearing black leather jackets and combat boots, and still claim they're the same characters. I'm excited to see what they can do with a big budget on the silver screen, because I know that it'll be a huge and spectacular display of effects and explosions and shit, but I'm worried that in their attempts to differentiate themselves from the Marvel movies (which perfectly capture the fun lightheartedness of comics), they're going to market DC as just being all grizzly and badass.
Just as hurr dark and gritty as I expected it to be. Looks decent enough so far though.
Are this movie and the Nolan trilogy in the same continuity?
Are this movie and the Nolan trilogy in the same continuity?
No
Also Affleck's Batman voice is way better. Bale's Batman voice was the worst fucking thing. The Batsuit reminds me of the one from The Dark Knight Returns movie, which was awesome. [sp]He fights Superman in that movie, too[/sp]
Are this movie and the Nolan trilogy in the same continuity?
Nope, the Nolan universe exists outside of the rest of DC. He a drew line in the sand with those movies by setting up a world in which magic and superpowers just can't exist without completely invalidating the story. Two of the three main villains actually had their powers removed to make them more evenly matched. Ra's al Ghul is the grandmaster of a ninja order, true, but he's also essentially immortal and ageless outside of Nolan. Bane is a master strategist and big tough baddy with combat skills, ye, but he's also a ten foot tall chemically-enhanced lab experiment who can throw cars around like toy blocks outside of Nolan. As cool as those movies were, can you imagine Atlantis and sorcery existing in the same world? Can you even imagine other Batman villains, like Clayface, existing in Nolan's world?
I'm not really sure how much I like Batman's voice modifier and blue eye vision thing Also seems to me like the movie may be more Superman centric than Batman? Just the vibe I got off this

Just the vibe I got off this
well snyder did claim that this movie was still going to be the sequel to man of steel and that he will focus the story more on superman than batman.
Hopefully this isn't as joyless and dark as man of steel was, but this trailer makes me think it will be. I still thought this trailer was a little more interesting than i expected it to be though.
"Do you bleed? You will!" Did someone actually think that's a good line?
This is why teaser trailers for actual trailers is bullshit, either release a trailer or don't because it pisses people off [editline]17th April 2015[/editline]
well snyder did claim that this movie was still going to be the sequel to man of steel and that he will focus the story more on superman than batman.
Idk if I like batman being second fiddle to an honestly boring movie to begin with

Batman is cool but I really liked him in Nolan movies for being somewhat believable as a human being and so were his enemies. And I am fine with magic and shenanigans and stuff but why go with the two most overused heroes and not look into something new and interesting? I feel like they are doing this just because they know people WILL go see the next Batman movie, and they WILL go see the next Superman movie, just like they WILL go see the new Spiderman movie, regardless of how shit bland and uninteresting are they. Meanwhile Judge Dredd so so broke even at box office and struggles to gain momentum for a sequel even tho the movie was imho one of the best "superhero" movies of last decade.

That movie fuckin' ruled. As far as making movies about the slightly less publicized DC heroes, I'm totally on board with that, too. I'd prefer that, even! I'd choke a bitch for a Doctor Fate solo. Realistically, though, that isn't likely to happen without Batman vs Superman to set the stage. Tons of people are basically guaranteed to see it, because everybody knows Batman and Superman, and with the movie already confirmed to have at least cameos from Wonder Woman and Aquaman, and rumors of the Flash, it will introduce viewers who aren't already broader DC fans to a lot of other characters. A Justice League universe is the easiest way to shine a light on less public, but awesome characters like Doctor Fate, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, etc.
It's a good trailer cause it doesn't reveal to much, but it doesn't really show me how Ben Afflack is gonna turn out as batman. I'll just have to go see it for myself
I love Batman and DC comics but for some reason I could not be less excited about this movie. It just wreaks of bad writing to me for some reason.
do we know if ben assflex is going to play batman this time? i hope not. [editline]17th April 2015[/editline] i'd rather have adam west play the role instead
i actually quite liked that trailer the batman suit is... strange though
He needs it to match up to superman, kind of like the hulk buster
See, what I don't and never will get is why this is even a fight, why doesn't superman just stay at a distance and use his heat vision to just cook batman in the suit? More importantly under what circumstances would batman and superman ever actually duke it out and finally how can anyone even stand up to superman, he's layered in plot armor.

I don't get it, wouldn't Superman be able to just shit stomp Batman? It wouldn't even be a fight. I don't know anything about Superman v Batman, is Batman evil or something?

In a straight up fight, yeah, Superman could just fling Bruce into space. In the source material, the armored suit [sp]is essentially just a distraction. Bruce knows Superman will use restraint, so he builds the power armor to make himself just tough enough to distract Superman for a few minutes, while Green Arrow lines up a shot with a kryptonite arrow. Even then, it's only enough to daze him for a few seconds. He wasn't trying to win the fight, only to make a point about Superman's fallibility. It was to basically say, "you aren't God. Don't forget that."[/sp]

Neil DeGrasse Tyson VO at the beginning.
