Palestinians have reacted angrily to Israel's approval of nearly 1,200 new Jewish settlement homes, just days before peace talks are set to resume.
Palestinian negotiators said the approval cast doubt on Israel's sincerity in the peace process.
Israel's housing minister said no country in the world would take orders on where it could build its homes.
Little "fuck you" before we begin so you know your place in advance, Palestine.
The settlements are considered illegal under international law, although Israel disputes this
They really should not get away with this shit
Sad that the PA keeps getting pressured by the US to negotiate with us and Israel. They'll never succeed in this route but with the US pulling the purse-strings the PA is probably left with little choice.

Hey Canada the US gov't just approved 1,200 new settlements in your country problem?

Yeah I think a lot would, just because it was Israel all those years ago doesn't mean it is now.
Didn't they do this after they agreed to release prisoners in exchange for more settlements?
Israel is also preparing to free 26 Palestinian prisoners on the eve of this week's scheduled peace talks. Announcing the settlement construction at the same time may be intended as a sop to right-wing supporters of the government who oppose those prisoner releases.
Except it was never israel till the 40's.
Even then the location wasn't Israel and they annexed land from the UN.
Maybe a superpower needs to find a way to supply the Palestinians with military hardware and arms to rival Israel. Then there'll be war. And they're going to get a taste of their own medicine.
Until that happens, however, Israel's going to continue its genocide.
The Palestinians' won't be able to win a war against Israel, Israel is just too powerful and backed by the US. I do think though the PA should end security cooperation with Israel. The current situation of the PA doing much of the occupier's work for Israel is dumb and it plays right into Israel's hand.
I wish my country wasn't caught up in all this shit
actually, I just wish none of this shit was going on at all. I wonder how many of the people who live on both sides actually give a fuck about this bullshit.

I have to explain to my right wing extremist grandfather all the time that any suggestion that includes more war and death is no solution at all. There has to be a way to end this peacefully.

There's a half dozen ways you could kick Israel in the balls but nobody wants to even sink their ships because they know the US will barge in and ask "hey! What the fuck did Israel do to you??"
Pansies trying to protect other pansies.

there has been a way to resolve this peacefully for decades. the people in charge don't follow through with it.
