This was exactly my reaction too.

But his name was Wesley so he had it coming.
It's fun but theres too much dialog and attempts at making you feel close to the characters.
Fenris is almost unbearable enough to make me not want to play the game. Combat is unbalanced, difficulty varies dramatically between enemies depending on type and difficulty. (Having to lower down to casual because it gets so damn difficult)
Its a unique way of story telling for a game, whether it works or not in the long run I don't know since I haven't played enough. Although the wave thing was kind of noticeable when 4 spiders dropped from the sky.
What I find funny is that when RPS talks about fps's they hate all the "generic" ones coming out. ie. Homefront, Crysis 2, BC2, concerns with BF3, etc.
When they talk about RPGs everything has to stay exactly the same. I'm fine with people having opinions but at least be consistent.
Or maybe FPS games are stuck in a quagmire of mediocrity caused by making them console accessible, whereas RPGs have generally been very good but are showing signs of declining quality.
I'm 24 hours into DA2 and I still don't know what the story is supposed to be. Dialogue and quests are shit now as well. The combat is way more fun now though.
Clearly influenced by the enormous success of Mass Effect II
Except Dragon Age: Origins sold better
Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah game is polarizing 'nuff said. Fucking hell...
I really enjoy it so far, after about 12 hours of gameplay.
Still has the same problem as DA1 had. The combat is fucking boring. So much dialogue I could fall asleep and clunky controls.
Wow, unexpected.

the dialogue is (also) what makes this game and dragon age origins so great
I dislike how chat has been simplified to 3 options:
-Pussy Mode
-Douche-bag Mode
-Impatient Mode

Don't forget sexy mode.

I love the avatar face to link with the unimpressed post. Just sayin'
I really don't know about Dragon age 2. I loved Dragon age: Origins because the storytelling was very fun, and I just loved all the characters. (Morrigan was creepy though) The combat was something I never experienced before (Well, as in you can play the game turn based, or go it real time and die). Plus, I've heard about all the Day 1 DLC and I find that dissapointing, but wasn't there like a few thousands DLCs for Origins?

And another person to be the fag mode
Just finished the game and I've come to the conclusion that this game has no story. Just a bunch of unrelated bullshit that happens. What the fuck Bioware?

Implying the 8 dialogue options you somtimes got in DA:O actually had 8 different outcomes.
Seriously, every single time they were just good, neutral, evil and the rest were variations on the 3.
Great game. Really enjoying it so far. Congrats BioWare!
I'm 48 hours in and I haven't gotten to the 3ra arc yet. I understand the story, I highly enjoy the game. There are so many side quests it's mind boggling. [sp]The Arishok kicked my ass 13 times...[/sp] =(
I'd give it a 7/10 to Origins 8.5/10, not great, not mediocre, only okay. Although it definitely deserves better than the hundreds of 0's on metacritic
this guy is stupid as fuck, how hard is it to get used to the (easyto understand) new game mechanics
also he liked merril, the mark of a true retard

I played through it, completing every sidequest and it took me about 18 hours. Unless you're dying 13 times on each enemy there's no way it should take that long.

At least the dialogue in DA:O wasn't too bad. I like Alistair's snarky comments.
From what I've seen of DA2, it's not too great. I guess Varric is pretty cool, but Hawke just sounds like an emotionless robot asshole and then there's this as well

Ladyhawke doesn't sound like a robot, and her default preset is nice, but unfortunately her voice probes the very depths of smug with every word, no matter what dialogue you choose. Nowhere near as awesome as FemShep, since occasionally you want to slap her, but not as bad as Merril. What a horrible mary sue character.
[editline]15th March 2011[/editline]
Also, Alistair is one of the best characters Bioware have ever done, apart from Shepard and HK47.

This type of game obviously isn't for you then.
Nah, user-reviews over there are mostly a sham.
Yes, I make it a point to ignore the intense exaggeration of hate in the user-reviews for this particular game.
Why does Bioware seem to think that making a great game with lots of features should have a sequel that dumbs everything down and makes it boring as fuck? They did it with ME and now they've done it with DA.
If you say so. I'm enjoying it.
What's your problem?
