I still haven't actually played Skyward Sword because the Wii was a console I completely skipped. I want to, but I'm not going to buy a Wii just to play it even at this point.

Honestly, unless you're willing to sit through it for a simple story with great presentation, Skyward Sword has one of the unfortunate cases of being a Zelda game most wouldn't go out of their way to get a console for. People joked about there being a cycle where the newest Zelda game is hated and the previous one suddenly gains cult appreciation, but nah, that's not happening with Skyward Sword.
I'm hoping they release an HD remaster of it for the Switch
