Yet another instance of YouTube being completely broken.

Things like this make me wish there as an equally powerful competitor to YouTube. I mean where do you go if your channel gets taken down? Dailymotion?
Selling youtube to google was a mistake.
Imagine being so big that you can get fucking Don Bluth on your show, but Youtube ignores you for 3 weeks.
Youtube is fucked.

AlternateHistoryHub isn't able to get monetization working either

Not exactly the same, but other channels are getting really bizarre issues
You know I bet if there was a thread for videos people have made because of the dumb shit youtube is doing. It would be a couple pages long I think.
I can't believe how bad of a business Youtube is. Their whole site runs on the idea that other peoples content will get them page views, yet they have such a rich history of fucking over the creators of said content.
I feel like youtube only does this because they know they can get away with it. There are no other sites that come close to youtube enough that the creators can switch over to it successfully, and it means that YT can get away with just being shitty.

"I am really glad we had to pair a Google+ account to our regular Google account in order to comment on videos!"
- said no one.
Also want to add that YouTube are the fucking worst when it comes to getting into contact with them, there are about 3 ways or so to contact YouTube and even then you will be greeted with a automatic reply. There is simply no way to directly get in contact with anyone.
There is a lot of information regarding copyright that is outdated and you can get flagged by it because it happened that the 100 page long ToS said so otherwise.
Also as much as I hated it when it was first becoming a thing, I now totally get why Patreon is a thing. Not having to worry as much about the possibility of YT just randomly stopping your income must be a godsend.

gonna bite them in the ass when a competitor rises eventually
Haven't seen this one posted yet either, literally happened days ago too

i like it because i can change my display name to whatever i want now instead of my terrible 10 year old youtube name
Great job, your customer and associate support is a malfunctioning robot.
Why hasn't another site taken youtube's place yet? We've been hearing about things like this for years.

Because fighting giant corporations is hard if you aren't a big corporation yourself?
And Google is big.

Server costs is what caused the original owners of Youtube to sell up wasn't it?
I mean you're going to need a BIG, BIG server farm to host as much as Youtube can.
the only real "competitor" to youtube out there is vimeo, and that's only because they found a niche in artistic videos and shorts
[editline]28th January 2016[/editline]
i mean, dailymotion is probably bigger but i'd say vimeo is a lot more well known to the average user

Youtubers of the world, for too long you have been oppressed by major studios attempting to silence YOUR opinion! For too long, Prank Channels have broken rules without punishment while your channels are deleted for 3 seconds of a movie in the background of one of your videos! For too long Reaction videos have stolen your videos and your views! For too long, your opinion on terrible moves have been deleted by producers despite fair use laws. I say enough! To arms youtubers of the world! I hate Everything, H3H3, Doug Walker, AltHistoryhub, pyrocyncial, FilthyFrank, and so so much more! For too long the works of Sam Pepper and the scum like Jinx have taken our intrgrity, have stolen from us, and deleted original content! Today, as a united people, we fight against the corrupt system of Youtube, The Youtube of Google will become a Youtube of the viewer, of the uploader, of the people! Viva la revolution!
maybe all content creators should band tougher to make there own youtube with blackjacks and hookers

I mean it can be done, but because youtube is so big, it's super cheap to operate per video/person. If say IHE tried to start his own website to mimic youtube, there's a much higher chance of it getting hacked, he'd either have to learn to run everything himself, or hire somebody, bandwidth can be extremely expensive, etc.
I've uploaded trailers for movies and had them hit with a claim. Apparently their own promotional material is a problem.
It seems like everyone except the absolute top tier youtubers like Markiplier and Pewdiepie are getting affected these days. It's like every other day now someone's youtube channel gets an unjustified strike or gets shut down until a whole bunch of youtubers band together and make a shitstorm out of it because that's the only way to get them to listen.
Maybe it's time these guys form a big shitstorm, a general shitstorm to whip youtube in to shape, not just help out one guy who got fucked but to help everyone at once. I'd really love to see guys like Pewdiepie and Markiplier start speaking out about this. If they did that, Google would be a whole lot more likely to listen.
I actually wonder how many employees work specifically on Youtube. Besides the web design guys who dedicate all their time to making the site worse, who the fuck works on youtube? Almost everything is automated now, and you can't even get in contact with them, so...what even?
It's hilarious, the struggle now isn't even against youtubers and youtube at this point, it's between youtubers and fucking computer algorithms.
I wonder how many smaller accounts are totally dead because of these issues
It's sad to think that between Youtube and Facebook, we have settled into this broken system where the ones who are punished are the ones who make the new and original content.
And such a flagrant abuse of copyright privileges. When other people can claim and monetize your videos when they have no right. Or when they outright steal and re-upload your videos, it'll take days or even weeks for your takedown notice to get through, but by then it is too late.
It just doesn't make sense how this is what we've come to accept.

Mine.
I remember my Legacy Account (Account before Google bought YouTube.) I had about 3 videos of game play I cobbled together with bad music, my biggest hit was gameplay from GUN with over 10,000 views. When the whole Google Plus shit started I kept hitting the option to deny to connect my accounts. After about 4 weeks of this I went to log in one day and it said my account was terminated for refusal to accept Google Plus policy. This after being told that anyone who had a Legacy Account would not be asked this and could keep their account. I was one of 500 people to get terminated.
Since then I have done some digging into Google. I wouldn't believe them if they said "Hi." I do not use anything Google (browsers, search engine, etc.) Google is an anti-human rights company. They want to control everything connected to the internet so only one company can know what you use your computer for. Google is Pro Globalization and Pro NWO. Fuck 'em.

You uh, kinda lost me at the end there...
Okay, anyone who fucking says its not feasible for humans to deal with the sheer volume of youtube videos uploaded need to watch this and others.
We're no longer at a 'its learning' we're at the point where its shutting down legitimate youtube channels and not even fucking responding to god damn question and emails. Humans may not be able to keep up with all of the videos but they sure as shit would be able to fucking handle youtube content creators.

They make enough money to the point where they could hire a huge division of people to handle responses to emails, and such.
They just don't want to.

They're probably under some contract or something and stand to lose a lot if they call Youtube out.
Marki and Pewds are part of Polaris.
So yes. Yes they do.
