They say their three-year-old grandson might have survived if a Wichita police officer hadn't made them stop CPR. Isaiah Jones drowned in his grandparents' above-ground pool last week. The boy's grandmother, Pam Jordan, was taking care of him as part of her daycare. She says just moments after seeing the boy playing on her locked back patio, he was gone. Thinking the boy might have sneaked back into the home, Jordan yelled Isaiah's name and called 911 to report a missing child. Shortly after, she found him floating in the backyard pool. Jordan says she scooped the boy up, took him into her kitchen, and the CPR she did on him was working. Jordan says the boy vomitted, regained a pulse, and color was returning to his blue lips. She says her grandson still wasn't breathing, though. The family says they're upset because the first officer on the scene told Jordan to back away and didn't continue CPR. They say when two other officers arrived minutes later, they immediately grabbed equipment and restarted CPR.
I live in Wichita, the same city that the Abortion Doctor was assassinated. What the hell is going on around here. http://www.kwch.com/Global/story.asp?S=11044041
What a fucking idiot! God, there are some cops that are just completely moronic. I mean, I respect the authorities and all, but what the hell would have compelled the officer to tell her to stop the CPR on the boy? Unless he could take over, it's pointless to have her stop if she knows what she's doing.

That'll show her to save a family member's life!
Only in Kansas?
What a fucking moron.
Wouldn't that be enough to put the cop to jail? Because he is pretty much responsible for the kid's death.
Reckless homicide Maybe not..
I would've continued CPR anyway. Might as well try, and hope he isn't enough of a dumbfuck to shoot/taze/beat you for trying to save the kid's life.
Reckless homicide Maybe not..
Yeah. That's what MJ's doc is getting charged for, and if this officer doesn't get charged with that I would be surprised. [editline]12:44PM[/editline] Although, the officer was just misinformed, probably.
What the fuck was that Officer thinking! At least she could have just also used CPR on the boy but no,What a moron.
This is why cops are being shot at almost everyday.
This is why cops are being shot at almost everyday.
No.
No.
Half the world hate cops because they are unfair.
Wow, that got me angry. I don't get how people stupid enough to do these things.
Just because a cop tells you to stop doesn't mean you have to. What was he gonna do arrest her for giving CPR? I'd say the Grandma was the stupid one for stopping, and using the cop as an excuse.
The news article makes it seem like the woman called 911 like 5 seconds after noticing that her child was not in the general vicinity. "Oh he might be in the house! I better call 911!"

[editline]01:31PM[/editline] Maybe not, but it was definitely the cops fault. [editline]01:34PM[/editline] Or mebbe she trusted him to do something.
"I trusted him to take over," says Pam Jordan, a former medical assistant. "That's why I specifically asked him, 'Are you going to take over?' It's a life and death situation."
Derja go.
I hate it when authority gets too big headed and feel that whatever they say is completely correct and is the right course of action :argh:
Let's play hangman L a w s u i _
um, R?
Once again red tape kills someone.
While the legal implications of disobeying an officer of the law are hazy, the immediate repercussions of being detained for being uncooperative are fairly clear in their black and blue colors.
Once again red tape kills someone.
More like a dickhead cop. :clint:
What a fucking idiot.

If you are doing 'daycare' AND have a three year old to look after AND you have a pool in your backyard AND when that kid is missing you don't run FIRST THING straight to that pool- you sir or madam are in no position to cast stones at someone else costing that kid his or her life. Therefore, this grandma is looking to blame someone else since she knows she killed her grandkid and can't face that. This is my judgement, I have spoken.
