That blade at 08:02
wow they were really shameless about this weren't they
Looks pretty good, but I hate the whole; "First person attacks you, counter attack/slay" even on boss fights it seems they're relatively scripted. I don't know how it'd be different every time you play. So would every boss that you face, look different, and use different moves? Or will it just be the same boss, different look? I don't see much that is unique in this, but..

Holy shit this looks amazing. Hopefully die hard Tolkien fans don't rip apart for being lore breaking with the over powered wraith stuff. Is it lore breaking? I'm not caught up on my Middle Earth, even though it's my favorite series.
Holy Hell. As a huge lord of the rings fan, this looks awesome! I remember reading about this game a while ago, and it didn't sound very interesting, but this video really made me excited for the game!
I like how dark it is
There's litterally nothing unique about this games, it's basicly a reskinned Assassins Creed.
There's litterally nothing unique about this games, it's basicly a reskinned Assassins Creed.
That's the appeal to me tbh. Assassins Creed but set in Middle Earth sounds fucking badass
There's litterally nothing unique about this games, it's basicly a reskinned Assassins Creed.
That doesn't make it not-fun though.
I am so fucking sick of the Arkham Asylum/AssCreed combat system.
There's litterally nothing unique about this games, it's basicly a reskinned Assassins Creed.
Yes but we will end up buying it anyway beceuse its lord of the rings yo.
Mordor only? Are they fucking going the Dragon age 2 route and making piss poor attempt at unique areas? Mordor is a barren wasteland. Guaranteed 90% of the game zones look like what we just saw in that video As a huge Tolkien fan I will not be buying this and I'm not even getting into the lore breaking. With all these dumbs I was really hoping for someone to prove me wrong.
looks pretty good, didn't expect whining from people here lol
The whole "Wraith" system sounds strange, especially from LOTR lore standpoints. Can't wait to see how the finished product looks though
Kinda reminds me of a Witcher/AC Hybrid.
I am so fucking sick of the Arkham Asylum/AssCreed combat system.
Only dislikes seems to be that and the quicktime events. Fucking quicktime events.....

That’s AC2 stuff in there. Code/anim for sure,” he said. “I spent two years staring at AC2. I know it when I see it.” One of Randall’s questioners was Ubisoft Quebec programmer Eric Martel, who asked simply “Where did you find out about this?” and replied to Randall’s comments with “wow”, apparently perfectly confident in Randall’s assessment.
The nemesis system unfortunately doesn't look like it will amount to more than a one liner that reflected what happened the last time you fought that boss Could be a lot of fun though
There's litterally nothing unique about this games, it's basicly a reskinned Assassins Creed.
yeah except for the nemesis system that looks like it's going to be the core mechanic in the game, yeah this is basically just a AC knock off because they were the first to do third person stealth games.
the graphics are pretty great I guess
Haha holy shit those AC anims
yeah except for the nemesis system that looks like it's going to be the core mechanic in the game, yeah this is basically just a AC knock off because they were the first to do third person stealth games.
Ahem.
yeah except for the nemesis system that looks like it's going to be the core mechanic in the game, yeah this is basically just a AC knock off because they were the first to do third person stealth games.
Besides literally stealing the climbing, camera, eagle vision, and 80% of the anims

Hopefully a lot of the mechanics will change since this is pre-alpha, because this idea is pretty fuckin' cool.
really hope they change the animations around. they look too much like AC animations. other than that, looks like it's gonna be fun! not sure how I feel about AC set in LOTR though. don't really feel that it fits with the general theme of the franchise
Lead AC2 Dev agrees http://www.vg247.com/2014/01/23/middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor-uses-assassins-creed-assets-says-ex-ubi-staffer/
He initially said he was sure then he began to back up when he tweeted this out https://twitter.com/charlesrandall/status/426396133762424832 As an animator myself I understand how he feels but I don't think the devs stole his animations, they more than likely used the animations as a sort of reference since the AC games have always been known for their gorgeous animations. Also the link you posted is dead, here's an alive one for you.
