A French mayor whose town voted for Front National candidate Marine Le Pen said he may resign as he does not want to dedicate his life to “pricks.”
Daniel Delomez called the result in Annezin in northern France “catastrophic”, after 38 per cent of the electorate voted for the far-right candidate.
“It is catastrophic. It’s possible that I will step down as I do not want to dedicate my life to arseholes,” he told French publication L’Avenir de l’Artois.
Far-left candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon was the town’s second choice, receiving 19.25 per cent of the vote.
The mayor has been hailed a “hero”, with users quick to take to social media to praise his candour.
“He is my idol,” one wrote. Another said: “Well done, he makes me feel better about humanity.”
It came as the latest results put Ms Le Pen through to the second round of France's presidential election with 21.53 per cent of the vote.
The far-right eurosceptic was more than two percentage points behind independent centrist candidate Emmanuel Macron, on 23.74 per cent - the clear favourite to triumph in the second round.
Would make more of a difference if he stayed and worked against everything Le Pen or her supporters are trying to do rather than just throwing a fit and resigning man.
See I was really concerned P****s was something else
If they're going to censor it could they have given the second letter at least? I assumed he said Pussys.

I'm going to change your title by the way, because censorship is stupid.

The strange thing is, he actually said assholes, but the first source says both.

Yes, because surely whoever replaces him will be just as forward thinking. What a fool. If he wants his town to change then vacating his democratically elected position of power is a sorry way to go about it. Nothing will get done if people just abandon ship if things don't go their way.

Yah, I wasn't exactly sure which source was right considering I don't speak french and can't really benefit from using a french source.
Sorry for that mistake on my part.
it seems like le pen might not have much of a chance to do anything even if elected though because her party has all of 2 seats while the other guy can form a coalition to actually do things.
I don't blame him, but I'd at least do some good before getting lynched by the townspeople.
If these "pricks" gonna swallow this abuse, he may be right.
