In the wake of a deadly shooting attack at a synagogue in Denmark last week, a group of Norwegian Muslims intends to hold an anti-violence demonstration at an Oslo synagogue this coming weekend by forming a “peace ring” around the building.
One of the event organizers, 17-year-old Hajrad Arshad, explained that the intention was to make a clear statement that Muslims don’t support anti-Semitism.

The article on the news page says they want to volunteer to protect a synagogue but it's actually a anti-violence demonstration.
Good, shouldn't be needed in the first place though.

Well, uh, neither should charity organizations or fundraisers or protests of any kind, either. What an unfortunate world to live in.
What? I meant that it's sad that they have to protest against the violoence when the violence shouldn't be there in the first place.
That's great. Muslims sadly don't have the best reputation among the majority of norwegians, so this is always welcome.

Honestly, while Muslims shouldn't have to take a stance against terrorism (as most Muslims are normal people who live peaceful lives), I think it's important that they do. Polls show that there are people in the Muslim community that, even if they may not agree with the shootings themselves, agree with the sentiment behind the shootings. It's very important that the Muslim community at large sends a message that those opinions aren't tolerated. It's like the remaining racism in many western countries, inaction isn't enough to stop it.

Muslims have taken multiple stands before, people just refuse to listen.
What a pathetic ruse.
