it seems jim tries to say something but i dont get it
What the fuck was this? This wasted my damn time. All I can tell is that it's him mocking Play Asia for being a business and doing business-y things. Is that it? Cause if it is, then it's stupid. Because if I was a business and something like this happened, I'd jump at it, it's good viral marketing. You know, that thing businesses tend to do? Marketing? Chances are you are more likely to buy a product from a company that does viral marketing, than one that doesn't. I thought Jim couldn't go further down, turns out I was wrong. And yes I do know it's satire, still a waste of time. [editline]30th November 2015[/editline] Same goes to Koei Tecmo, if that's the business he was talking about. I did read the comments tho, apparently he was talking about how you are an idiot if you believe SJWs caused the game to not come out. But I have my reasons to believe that it was at least influenced by the situation. If it was money reasons, I'd believe that, but it's not, DOA sells better in the west. If it was censorship worries, then I'd believe it, but it's not, there has been a ton of DOA games and from what I know, none of them was censored, not even in Australia, a 15 year old can play them even. So unless the game has some real fucked up shit in it, that we don't know about. I don't see any reason for them to not release it outside of Japan/Asia unless it was influenced by the whole SJW fiasco, or if this was a marketing ploy where they will actually release the game anyway.
jim is really just losing it lately.

See: the whole gamergate/femfreq/whatever it is people call it nowadays fiasco. Also the general exploitative and nefarious nature of social media today, where for a lot of big people it's more like a business model than anything else.
And people on Patreon actually give him money for Jimq videos. I can't tell if he just wanted to play an idiot or if he legitimately missed the whole point by a mile.

Even though it's a shit way, it's also a smart way...then again they've been doing this for years so....
:)
If it's just a video game, people shouldn't be offended at it's content, right? EDIT: How is a video game with women in bikini's playing volleyball in a video game aimed at men worse than 50 Shades of Grey or Magic Mike, which are aimed to women. Can't complain about sexism when there is media displaying both sexes sexually.
:)
This is coming from someone who has literally been crying about gamergate and shit way more than most people for over a year and a half now. Max is legit mentally ill or something.
All I got from this is that it has something to do with DOA & SJWs, other than that I having no fucking clue what he's talking about I don't even know what's going on with the new DOA at all because this first is the first time I've even heard that they're releasing a new game, so what do SJWs have to do with viral marketing?
so let me get this straight, this video is just Jim doing mental gymnastics to say "SJWs aren't the reason doax3 isn't coming to the west!" ?
If it's just a video game, people shouldn't be offended at it's content, right?
We should stop playing the "If it's just a video game"-card. We all want videogames to be cultural more accepted and not to be treated like trash by the media or politics. A videogame can indeed provoke or offend, like a movie or a book. But all in all, videogames are a very valuable media. In case of DOAX 3... yeah it's just brainless entertainment... like porn or a shoot-em-up... and we need games like that aswell. But stop generalizing the whole industry and games like MGS, SpecOps The Line, Talos Principle... etc as "just videogames"

But yeah, i generalized a bit with that original post.
uhh isnt magic mike about a little black kid who gets magical jordans and becomes an NBA star as a kid?
That's "Like Mike". Magic Mike is about male strippers.
Max is legit mentally ill or something.
Ding ding ding. I've already mentioned some of the shit he's done (both to me and to other people) before but I feel like repeating them because they're still relevant today as they were back when they were first mentioned. The fact is, the guy is fragile as fuck. On new years eve (of all nights), I suddenly start seeing notification after notification, all of them by max. Tweet after tweet Favorited for no apparent reason. Understandedly I start shitting myself wondering what was going on, I tweet "fuck off". He favorites that too! (and to really rub salt in the wound, this totally co-incidental vine released that evening) Here's the thing- I can easily get paranoid quickly. And going out for new years eve dinner being fucking terrified of what damage he could be doing whilst I'm out is not a good thing at all. Then out of nowhere he starts acting "nice". Following me on twitter again, yada yada. I try acting along like nothing ever happened, except now I can't even tweet anything without Max trying to make all about gamergate. (I couldn't even mock the fact that someone thought it'd be a good idea to make pony daipers for SFM without max going "IT NEEDS A GAMERGATE DAIPER XD"). Eventually he gives up and stops following me until the tim schafer GDC incident comes along. I tweeted a few snarky tweets and then it started all the fuck over again until he vanishes yet again a few hours later. The guy has a serious issue with stalking people. He claimed that the reason he had google alerts set up was because someone was trying to dox him, but the more likely reality is that he wanted to keep tabs on people saying "maxofs2d's a fag lol" or anything along those lines because he used to have a folder on img.maxofs2d.net FULL of that sort of thing. He also may have been involved in the hacking/deactivation of supermariogalaxy13, but that's something I sadly cannot verify (but considering the way he's acted toward her in the past? It's very likely.)
I'm going to make my thoughts on this as simple as possible to avoid confusion. The US is a "free country" right? If people want to purchase or invest in something, they should have the right and/or ability to do so, preferably locally. If people don't want to buy or invest, they can just, you know, NOT BUY THE THING THEY DONT LIKE! Can it be argued that this is a marketing ploy? Fuck yes. But that's what a business does. Advertise and market in a way that makes them money, and viral marketing is one of the best ways. If I were to make an indie game that would offend people I'd absolutely use such a hot topic to my advantage. That being said. If people don't like the thing, they can always not buy the thing, but don't ruin it for the people who do want to buy said thing. Also Jim, I want my 8 minutes of life back.
jim is really just losing it lately.
I've never understood the appeal of Jim Sterling. He's always struck me as an aging gamer desperately trying to stay edgy and cool.
This was probably the worst episode of the Jimquisition that i've seen, and i actively watch jim's videos.
anti-consumerism is jim's thing when it comes to clashing with his ideals. aint a surprise that it pops up under the facade every once in awhile.
Reminds me of certain Fp users. Honestly, if you're gonna take a "side" at least don't defend the crazies.
Reminds me of certain Fp users.
God, this part. I don't think I've ever cringed so hard. I like Sterling's content most of the time but god damn fuck this episode. Was hoping he'd actually have something profound or insightful to say about consumer rights, personal taste, and how businesses factor into it. Lul nope #SJWconspiracyguize.

Honestly, if you're gonna take a "side" at least don't defend the crazies.
isn't this literally exactly what people like anita sarkeesian do and not at all what tecmo-koei or play-asia are doing at all? just replace "marxism" with " the patriarchy" i mean play-asia are selling a fucking product and being cheeky on twitter, they aren't accepting donations to fund the sjw war, they're just posting fucking smug anime faces
Kinda obvious that it was marketing on PlayAsias part but remember, it was journalists that threw the stones(errr.. threats to use their connections to destroy PlayAsias business) that caused them to start mocking, which is all they did.
Lul nope #SJWconspiracyguize.
I doubt they're conspiring in some smokey room to force through a law but they probably would have sexualized female characters banned if they could.
I can't tell whether it's ham-fisted satire or a sign that something's snapped in Jim Sterling.
If I were to make an indie game that would offend people I'd absolutely use such a hot topic to my advantage.
The video's making fun of people going "poor poor tecmo :(, fucking sjws ruining everything!!! >:(" when it's fairly likely that the company's just creating a shitstorm for free publicity "I'm going to buy this thing anyway!! That'll teach those pesky sjws!!!" cha ching
I mean their PR person can hardly even fucking write english
Not to mention that the overall games-medias response to this was "your game is sexist shit, whatever" Kinda justifies what the PR person said.
