While several media outlets reported that a doctor had been shot, Johns Hopkins spokesman Gary Stephenson said only that "an employee" had been taken to an operating room. Earlier, local media said the suspect was hiding in a patient's room on the eighth floor of the hospital. CNN affiliate WMAR in Baltimore said the shooter had barricaded himself. It's unclear if the shooter was alone in the room. Reports indicate the wounded doctor is in critical condition. Many people were evacuated, according to reports. Johns Hopkins is a large campus with about 1,000 beds.
I love how the title on the source link starts with "Shooting in custody." Boy does CNN suck at grammar. Anyway, big shock to me, I live about 20 minutes from John's Hopkins. Of course this great hospital is in the middle of the fucking ghetto...
Everyone gets shot at in John's Hopkins. A murder happened nearby when a friend of my brother was visiting there.

Anything on why he shot the doctor?
Baltimore is number two in the country for violent crime, just behind Detroit.
Yeah, baltimore's a pretty terrible place to live. I've driven through several times and it's not really a pleasant experience.
Anything on why he shot the doctor?
Doesn't say yet. Probably some kind of alleged malpractice bullshit. Happens a lot, same with lawyers. I worked right across from Lexington Market for like 18 months. Saw some odd shit. Howard St. has Bloods, Eutaw St. has Crips. My building was right in between that. You figure out the rest.
at least he was in an appropriate place to be injured
at least he was in an appropriate place to be injured
Yeah whoever shot him was a fucking idiot. [editline]12:30PM[/editline]
Your building has a purple gang?
No... I was right in the middle of fucking gang fights and shootings all the fucking time. Someone was killed right at the entrance of the office building.
Doctor Who?
I live outside of Baltimore, and the local news says the suspect is "contained" but JH retracted the statement about the shooter being subdued. It looks like this is the son of a patient, his mother, who "walked into JH a few days ago only to end up paralyzed," or so say a few employees interviewed.
