I sincerely hope that's not what the actual fretboard and the like will be because that is AWFUL.
Nobody asked for this and the idea is awful. The "star" of the game should be the fucking songs, not the crowd.
Rock Band 4 already wins this competition. I don't know why but Guitar Hero after the first 3 started going downhill. Like they tried too hard to mimic Rock Band but didn't know how to do it. Now they're just desperate.

I hope music games make a comeback.
Each fret has another "string" in this version, I believe. So technically it's 6 buttons you can alternate between, but it'll play veeeeeery differently. This could prove to be pretty cool or just awful.
this is literally just so they can sell new guitar controllers for the previous generation of consoles instead of people using the ones they already have from the previous games fucks over people who enjoyed the way previous games played with the five buttons for all the previous games too what a shitty thing to do
Yeah this doesn't look like it's for me, they're kind of all over the place with genres. I do like the music video thing though, it's just too bad non of the artists appeal to me. Curious to see how the six button thing works, they should have explained that in the trailer.
Guitar Hero III is my baby, you shut ur mouth. Guitar Hero: World Tour is where things started to slip. I still liked Warriors of Rock, but that's pretty much the only game past the third one I genuinely like.
well he did say after the first 3 so i think you guys agree on that but yeah this looks like fucking shite and very much trying to cater to a nonexistent crowd of players rock band 4 kept it simple and classic, as it should be
Guitar Hero 3 remains the best guitar-focused music game out there. It's just perfect. The only problem of GH2 was the godawful guitar. Since it could be split in two for easy storage, the contacts would often wear out really quickly and you'd end up with frets poorly responding or not responding at all. I feel like the world tour guitar nailed it best.
GH3 also had a splittable guitar, but I've yet to have any problem with them.
Rock Band annoyed me because I never had the finger dexterity to press those further buttons, and they made use of all of them in all but easiest difficulty.
Not gonna lie the whole FMV thing with this puts me off more than anything, especially if all the people who star in them are gonna be douchenozzle lookin' guys like in the trailer. That and the new control scheme makes me think I will get the new rockband rather than this.
this reminds me that i found GH2 for PS2 at a flea market for $10 unfortunately the strum bar is fucked and double strums constantly

This thread makes me wish my copy of GH3 was in working order. Half the songs don't even finish loading. :(
Nobody asked for this and the idea is awful. The "star" of the game should be the fucking songs, not the crowd.
This is to pander to a casual audience to make them feel famous and wanted, not the older more serious audience that ignores the visuals completely to focus on the rapid series of notes flying at them. Notice how the trailer only shows relatively easy notes to play and not break neck Through the Fire and Flames expert sort of difficulty which is what the dedicated rhythm audience wants to see. Probably why it isn't called "Guitar Hero 6" or something.
It's like going back in time when CD ROMs were first being used for games, so to fill all the space they did a lot of Live Action shit
Having two rows of buttons actually seems like a really good design change for a guitar game
All I wanted from GH is the over the top charm and arcadey gameplay this is neither :(
I'm gonna play this and play terrible so the entire crowd will boo at me and look disappointed, then i am going to play good for a few seconds to let them cheer once then go back to being terrible again. To make it better i will think that they each paid 50-60 dollars for a ticket to this concert and i just ruined their night.
All I wanted from GH is the over the top charm and arcadey gameplay this is neither :(
play the old ones then
