Former Client Notice: Please head to http://www.phoenixerve.com/refugees to read a Brohoster refugee statement by Larry Detlor. The former staff who have provided you excellent service will be teaming up to open a new business under a separate brand name and an entirely new chain of command.

Thanks for your patience during this time guys, we're working hard to keep everything alive for you all. Our staff members' livelihood have depended on Brohoster, so we're not just giving up easily.

hey everyone,
At this time we have been locked out of the majority of the internal systems by Club UpTime. We still have the ability to assist with the data recovery process via TCAdmin and can access some servers but it appears as some connections are down.
At this time we've done about all we can and hope that it's been enough.
Update on this - even though we do not have certain accesses we do have access mostly to the boxes and sl is trying to work with the owner of cu/bh to bring up anything still offline
If anyone recieves an automated bill from Brohoster or Clubuptime please ignore it and please remove reoccuring billing if you have it set up. working with amc to see if we can have the auto billing messages disabled but not sure yet. PLEASE DO NOT PAY THIS (like you didn't already know that if you're here)
Info provided by Agent766 - Paypal is sending out emails to let people know the reoccuring billing has been cancelled. Brian was doing that yesterday to kept people from being charged further.
To All of our Bros,
I would like to start by offering my apologies to all of the customers of Brohoster and Club UpTime. We realize that the past few days have been a frustrating experience for all of you.
As many of you are aware, Club UpTime has had to close its doors, and an unfortunate side effect of that is that its subsidiary company Brohoster has been dissolved as well.
The remaining ex-staff of Brohoster along with a co-owner of Club UpTime have been working around the clock for the past three days to provide a solution for customers to retrieve their data. We have worked with SoftLayer to come to an agreement that allows us to open the public ports for all of our servers so that customers may log into their old services and retrieve their data. We have agreed upon a window of 72 hours for this access, so ask that you take advantage of this time.
Refunds will be issued to all customers who have already paid their invoice for the current month, and will be prorated if paid quarterly, semi-annually or annually. Please be patient as this process may take up to 4-6 weeks to complete.
I wish to thank the following people who have gone above and beyond to stick with us while in restoring these services as our primary goal has been to ensure our customers were taken care of:
Andrew McWatters – System Administrator / Tech Support (Brohoster)
Tyler Salwierz - System Administrator / Tech Support (Brohoster)
Terri Detlor – Tech Support (Brohoster)
Melodi – Community Management (Brohoster)
Brian – Silent Partner / VP (Club UpTime)
HEXXEH - facepunch forums
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the above mentioned individuals who have worked so hard to have your server access restored are also reorganizing into a brand new company which plans to offer the same high quality services and customer service. We will announce further information regarding this transition in the coming week.
We will have full support options available with the launch of the new company; however, in the meantime we will do ourbest to answer any questions we can via the standard channels of communication we have access to such as WebHostingTalk, FacePunch, FaceBook and IRC.
Sincerely,
Larry Detlor
General Manager Brohoster

I really appreciate you bringing the servers back online though.
No, it's not.
Matt
Sweet!
Now if only I wasn't getting a runtime error when I try to access the file manager in the TCAdmin panel... and if only I could FTP in.
Guess I won't be getting my map quite yet.
The new company details will be announced as soon as possible.
We found it far more important to first restore services (albiet temporarily) to help our stranded, valued, and loyal clients.
Our next step, of course, is to structure a new venture to provide the quality services you've all come to expect from our dedicated team.

What has Matt done?
I haven't been keeping up, the last I heard was someone ran off with nearly 100k.
In an attempt to KEEP ON TOPIC, though, I'd like to say thanks for getting the servers back up for people.

He terminated Jake, laid me off, and wanted to fire Tyler. He singlehandledly ruined the company and continued to allow it to plummet when available staff wanting nothing more but to see it recover and work to get it back on track.
hmm... I think I need to stay tuned to this thread... I'm seriously impressed with the service we've received over the weekend.
But just to confirm, this isn't LethalDrive we're talking about here?

I agree one hundred percent.

no this is not LD. we don't have a name yet actually but it will be larry and omar as owners and with me, tyler and andrew. we're working on the details but yes please keep and eye out for us!!
I'm wondering as well, but now I've already preordered a server from lethaldrive, albeit the cheapest one available and for only a month, but the staff of brohoster made it great, even though JWJ started it. What made you guys decide to turn down JWJ's offer?
Having everyone's data publicly available is a bit of a security risk, no? What if someone was using an authentication plugin which stored passwords in plaintext.
It's nice to read of something, albeit small and probably insignificant in the grand scheme, regardless happening at such a time. Now just hope the default in the US doesn't happen and we can all continue in the wonderful story of the internet.

guys are looking at this one now
But just to confirm, this isn't LethalDrive we're talking about here?
That is correct. With all due respect to LethalDrive, the new company we refer to as 'yet to be announced'... is not LethalDrive. Our primary focus this weekend was to rescue data for stranded clients. We will announce the new company as soon as possible. If you've already heard the name of the company before... that is not 'us'. - Omar

we do really appreciate jake's offer. but honestly after the last few days of working on all this....we wanted to give it a go!! we have an awesome crew of guys and a fucking leader...we have to try!

It's this or you can kiss your files goodbye. It was a decision made with thorough ethical decisions.
I thought only the mine craft servers were gonna get salvaged, it sure was looking like it for a while! Thank you ex-BH and Soft Layer!
Now there is only one thing for you guys to do, get some sleep already! Victory nap!
