so bad...
Lol it looks like they got people from the public to hold the boards. I've seen lost fingernails because of holding a board wrong, and that was someone who actually did TKD.
As a martial arts student, I am ashamed. The kid doesn't even know how to punch properly. I don't see any sort of "on guard" stance, either. Or footwork of any kind. To be fair, I'm not a TKD student but I'm pretty damn sure that's not proper TKD. Please correct me if I'm wrong, though.
I feel bad for laughing at the kid who got hit :v:
Ahahaha he's a second degree black belt, thats the same rank where you can legally become an Instructor, the usual breaking technique at that level is at least concrete. Also only one trained person should hold the board outright infront of them with fingers in the middle to prevent it from flying from ones hands once it breaks, a good kick can easily break fingers. This is why nobody takes martial arts seriously, these guys get their black belts within a year.

Letting people advance through the ranks before they've really earned it gives the illusion that they're progressing so they'll keep the cash flowing. Then of course you have places that fold under the pressure of people demanding instant gratification, a lot of people get impatient and leave if they aren't progressing at what they consider to be the right pace, then there aren't enough students to keep the place going at all.
Dang, my dad pisses on most modern martial arts schools, saying it's changed so much, I wonder what he would say to this crap.

this guys a black belt and he cant even break through wood? is this a joke
taekwondon't
this guys a black belt and he cant even break through wood? is this a joke
but you can see the power of his chi by how those beefy dudes can't hold the board in one place against his almighty assault
this guys a black belt and he cant even break through wood? is this a joke
Belt does not mean any shit. You can be doing any martial arts for 30 years and still have a white belt if you decide not to go to a different color. I've been doing Jiu Jitsu for 3 years and still have a yellow belt.

Also the belt ceremonies are normally publicity stunts. Ive been doing Kung Fu for 4 years (3 years of Wushu) and my teachers are straight from China. Most of our demos are performance based being that we use weapon forms or do hand forms, occasionally we stage weapon battles and choreograph group forms/battles. At a New Year's Eve thing a TKD blackbelt did a backflip and broke a board. While it looks cool my instructors said its really easy to do and they did several flips while swinging a chainwhip during their performance. Some [del]TKD[/del] martial arts schools are scams and it kinda shows. I still don't understand what breaking the boards are supposed to do. Are they supposed to be like the training material before you work up to brick/concrete?
I did Taekwondo a long-ass time ago, but I'm absolutely sure we were able to easily break boards before black belt. This is fucking awful.
mlg taekwondo at its finest
