South Africans are praying for former president Nelson Mandela after the revered peace icon spent a second day in hospital being treated for a lung infection.
Mr Mandela was taken to a Pretoria hospital early on Saturday in a "serious but stable" condition.
It is the Nobel Peace Prize laureate's fourth hospital stay since December.
Mr Mandela, who turns 95 next month, was most recently discharged in April following treatment for pneumonia.

South Africans are beginning to come to terms with the mortality of their first black president, following a string of health scares.
The Sunday Times newspaper carried a front-page picture of the beloved elder statesman smiling and waving under the headline: "It's time to let him go".
Although the government has not officially identified the hospital treating Mr Mandela, family members have been seen leaving a heart clinic in Pretoria where a large media camp is gathered.
"We wish Madiba a speedy recovery, but I think what is important is that his family must release him," Mr Mandela's long-time friend Andrew Mlangeni, 87, told the Sunday Times, using the former leader's clan name.
"Once the family releases him, the people of South Africa will follow," said the former apartheid-era prisoner, who was jailed for life alongside Mr Mandela in 1964.
"We will say 'Thank you, God, you have given us this man, and we will release him too'."
If a god does truly exist... May he take him home.
snip it was p dum
Mandela's funeral would become one of the greatest moments in where all foreign dignitaries and millions upon millions of others will pay their respects.
God bless you, Mr. Mandela. May you take your place beside God for your heroic deeds, and may you be immortalized in memory, so that none shall forget the savagery of the apartheid you defied.
Good night, and Godspeed, you magnificent man.
I wonder if Nelson Mandela is a peace with his impending departure.
One of my earliest memories I can remember is of seeing Nelson Mandela stepping out of a plane on the news. Strange when I think about it.
afaik Mandela's daughters are suing him for control of his property
so I'm a bit apprehensive about why they want to "let him go"
Damn, I've shaken the mans hand. He was one of my idols as a child and it's not nice thinking about him not being on this earth anymore.
God dammit lungs, you of break too much
Well, I mean he is 95. I think it's time to accept that he might not get better at this point. He lived a full life and changed a lot of lives. I think that's the most you can ask for out of life
One damn amazing man. I wish I could meet him.
This is saddening. :c
