I remember someone posting that alligator GIF on Facepunch, and there was lots of skepticism.
I tend to look for signs of stuff being 3D rendered, and even though it looked amazing I couldn't see anything that would imply it was fake, so I mentally labeled it "plausible".
I always believed the alligator one was real purely because it's so cool I didn't want it to be fake.

That close up from near the tree looks CGI towards the end of the clip (well done CGI though).
IIRC the alligator one is real but they edited the video to make it bigger.

I remember when they posted that article about the alligator in Sensationalist Headlines EVERYONE was calling it fake man.
