Holy fucking shit. That Robot Jones bit. I always noticed that. Fucking always. I way preferred the original voice that sounded like the robot, the new voice sounds like a little baby.
I fucking told my friends when it happened and everyone acted like they had no idea what I was talking about.
I always wondered why they did that. I assumed it was because a robot voice wasn't as "emotional" or "expressive" enough for them but that was the whole joke of him being a robot. FUCK
It always upsets me to see that we've lost pieces of history, even if they're just cartoons.

I've always seen lost media in a bunch of different ways. The first being that the media isn't "lost" per-say, just hidden away on a hard drive or in the equivalent of a vault where it's kept away from the public for one reason or another such as the majority of the deleted scenes for the Harry Potter movies or a lot of Disney stuff. The second being content that's genuinely lost, as in, destroyed tapes or missing film reels like the pie scene to Dr. Strangelove, missing Doctor Who episodes or the original cut for Event Horizon.

Maybe the reason was because it was harder to understand? I had trouble understanding the voice in this video.
The guy said that three people who backed that one kickstarter for the second pilot actually recieved the pilot, but there's no way because the kickstarter was unsuccessful so nobody got anything and no money was charged, IIRC.
Oh my god I have very very vague memories of watching Robot Jones and I swear I remember hearing the Microsoft Sam voice.
-Oops-

Our Gumball dub did this exact same thing with Gumball's voice actress, I think they maybe wanted to keep the whole show consistent?
It's really a shame how Johnny bravo can't catch a break
I bought that fucking Ed Edd and Eddy bowling game, good times
I never heard the new Robot Jones voice back then. Either I missed out on the changes or I didn't watch a lot of it, which could be the latter. I do remember Out of Jimmy's Head foundly, even though it was on the bad side. The episode with the talent show and the Tom Kenny penguin was just pure cringe. The part where the actor at the end had to dance and sing off key on stage to no music looked so...desperate for a laugh that never came. Even the audience just walked out mid way through the bit without a word.
Damn it, the robo-voice Robot Jones episodes are rare now? I used to have a few of them recorded to VHS, but I lost them.

Lucky, I remember me and my brother uninstalling and reinstalling it to reset the trial because our mom didn't want to pay for it
The robot voice of robot jones was why I loved it so much when I was younger. I was so annoyed and confused when the new voice was added.
Oh my God
We might have those Big Bag episodes on VHS still recorded
I'm calling my Mom right now
Edit: She's going to look into it when she gets home.
the topic of lost media always fascinates me, especially when it's for stuff as recent as this. you'd never think something from as recent as <20 years ago would seemingly be completely gone. really goes to show how important archiving is.
It's weird to me that there are so many people out there creating things and never once thinking "This is important enough that I should save a copy." Especially the people who were making stuff for What a Cartoon, and apparently having no idea (maybe to this day being unaware) that they were making things that were totally changing the face of Cartoon Network.
I mean shit, I still have drawings that I made in first grade. I save ALL that shit, because it's important to me, even if it's not important to anyone else.

To be fair, it's very likely NOT gone. Just not available to the public. Cartoon Network would have it's own archive.
I was a big fan of Robot Jones growing up and just like a few of you guys, I also swore that I heard the computerized voice and my friends thought I was bullshitting back in the day.
It's nice that there's at least some evidence of it.

So any luck on that so far?

I haven't called her back about it yet. Had an awful day today, not enough sleep last night, had to leave work early. I'll call her about it tomorrow.
Fuck I haven't thought about Power Play in years and if I recall rightly it pissed me off when I was a kid.
Fuck you Dexter's Labyrinth was free a week ago and now it costs money.

Cartoon Cartoon Friday Premiere.
Oh shit I might have some episodes of "Out Of Jimmy's Head" recorded somewhere in English. I remember I used to watch the shows that came after it but didn't have the time, so I would leave the DVD box recording so I could catch up, and it would usually start a little before OOJH. I always skipped over the show but I remember it fondly for not being very funny :v:
I remembered even back as a dumb bab thinking the premise of Re-Animated was fucking stupid.

Just seeing the footage reminded me that I had seen those exact lines/gags before and cringed as much then as I did now.
The presentation in this video was so bog standard and boring tbh. Interesting material, but everyone seemed bored presenting it. Not that they have to be super hyper about it, but like, no one felt like they really cared at all.

I remember when an episode came on I'd always change the channel to see if there was anything interesting. I started having an appreciation for other channels like Animal Planet, Spike TV, and Comedy Central ever since as they would always be close together.

If I could find a clip of "The Talent Show" and post it here it'd be the absolute worst thing a cable network has produced splayed out on FP.

I'm sure What A Cartoon would be a show that was kept around, since they did re-air them in later years. Thing is they are probably kicking around, just thrown in an unlabeled box and forgotten and possibly never even digitized. What I would give to have access to the archives at CN, Nickelodeon, etc.
Hell, maybe some employees know they exist, they just can't leak them because it would be a legal nightmare.

I feel the same. I also feel like each section ended abruptly? I'm not sure how to explain but the way it was read, it felt like there was going to be another sentence and then nope, now it's onto the next one.
Still I enjoyed watching it, and it actually brought back memories I didn't even remember having.
