Customers who make any purchase at GOG before October 17th will receive a free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition.
GOG has a pretty extensive library spanning multiple genres and time periods. That being the case, if there are any games among the site's multitudes that you've been itching to buy, now may be the time to do it. We say that because the online retailer has launched a new promo that could arguably be counted as one of its better recent deals. Until October 17th, any purchase you make at GOG will be rewarded with a free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition.
The first Witcher is a great game however expect to run around through the same places as an errand boy for most of it.
nah, i've got my copy 5 years ago, and later redeemed with the cdkey that somehow was a russian copy of the game
I tried to give The Witcher a chance, but after like 5 hours, I was still running around being everyone's schoolboy bitch.
yeah the first 3 acts are really slow and not a great deal happens. Can see why people are turned off by it.
I should really get around to beating the second game before the third game comes out.

True; I enjoyed it for what it was, and it was kinda slow-paced around the first coupla acts, but all in all I liked it somewhat. Witcher 2's definitely better, although I've been unable to finish it since it CTD's every time I close the gates in Vergen, which is a shame because that's right near the end of Chapter 2. Hopefully once I've gotten my machine fully upgraded to a more modern standard of power and processing, I'll finally be able to finish Witcher 2.
But I imagine even with the best upgrades I can afford, it'll still look like a bucket of bolts in comparison to the power required for Witcher 3.
it doesn't really seem like they upped the graphics much for 3
still looks good from the screenshots they showed, but i'd expect if you could run 2 well then you won't have much trouble with 3
In my opinion the Witcher is 10/10 game for its time.
the running around isn't the most annoying, its the loading times that tends go apeshit out of nowhere, nothing like waiting 20-40 seg for your inventory to open lol, or a full one-two minutes just get inside a house. :suicide:
but yeah the running around is kinda ridiculous, witcher story is great, but the execution(gameplay part) wasn't exactly stellar to say the least(i think i killed around 500+ drowners in act 2 alone).

The Witcher 2 is all pretty effects and particles. The textures themselves are not that great. The Witcher 3 has all those pretty effects and particles as well as nice textures in an open world environment.

I think the main problem is that not only you run a lot around, but the map is way too big compared to the speed you run at.

Isn't there a trait that makes the light Aard speed you up? Or am I thinking 2?
