I've got kind of an intermittent rough idle. I've recently done the oil, coolant, tranfluid, replaced the trans about 10k miles ago, new water pump, new belt, and new PCM\
Not so much stumbling or anything serious, just a kind of janky uneven idle a little when the engine's hot
Is it worth doing a full coil and plug service? 133k miles on original plugs and coils, money's not a big deal tbh
Just in time for the new thread! Been lurking for a long time - I'm now up at a ridiculous time in the morning to go collect my first car! Wish me luck :)
The heck? Old thread died with one post on the new page?

Sarcasm is a necessity on AA
And no serj, the bus will NOT be powered by two turbo'd slant 6s.
I drove a sweet full restoration Land Rover Defender 110 (north american model, one of 500) today at work. 3.9L petrol v8, 5 speed manual. It has been repainted but it's a fucking sweet ride. The feel when you take that shifter and throw it a foot back into second is just awesome.

Unfortunately as self proclaimed manager I am in charge of allcthe pretend money and turbo slants is all im paying for. You can have creative proclimation over weather or not we have hood pins and lexan windows. We'll carry a coyote engine In the trunk in case something goes wrong with the turbo slants then we can at least be at 1/4 of the power to get home.

Well, I'm starting an uprising to overthrow you as manager since you don't want to listen to reason and put a 6.7 Powerstroke in there.

I propose a implement truck with plywood sides built on the bed andshagt carpet recliners for seating.
Powerplant is made up of two side by side mounted v10 tritons with roots superchargers mounted in front of each powered by extended chrankshafts.
I'm tired.
I hate transfercases.
I hate not being able to find good lockers.
I hate trying to figure out ignition issues on a old Yamaha motorcycle.
I love how comfortable my bed is.......I'm...just gonna lay here for the entire weekend..... That's a good idea.
I bought a new mini sized but powerful 1/2" rattle gun not only 2 weeks ago and it's broken
didn't drop or mistreat it and I oiled it literally everyday (unlike my 3yo gun which I oiled 4 times a year and it still works.
It was good for getting to crank bolts without having to fuck around removing the radiator or using a pry bar+keyflick. And it weighed like half a kilo too
Consumer law is very good here so all should be fine

if it makes you feel any better I'm number 8 even though I was banned for nearly 2 years
I got my P1s on Friday, and I 'celebrated' today by properly driving myself to Uni.
I'd like to get into cars but I'm pretty sure I can't touch the i30 that I'm driving. Any tips?
New guy to the automotive thread but my brother recently bought a car and I have been helping him fix it up while he gets his license. It's an 88 Honda Prelude Si. Big problem we are having now is the car stalls randomly at red lights, it downshifts just fine but when I go to downshift into 1st gear it seems to just give out. It always starts back up after a few seconds so I am suspecting some kind of fuel starvation issue. I have replaced all the fluids as well as plugs, wires, and a fuel filter. My current suspect is either a bad fuel pump or an issue with the baffles in the tank.
I have a video that my brother took of the issue. (I know vertical video sucks...)

Any suggestions besides what I have mentioned?
Problems aside the car is great fun to drive.
It always feels weird with a new thread. It feels so empty

disable abs and practice doing j-turns in an industrial area
Will try and get some 1zz-fe coils for the 1jzgte, will report back if it cures my power issues

Sounds like a great idea.

Ok how bout this... I recently sold some stock in a pretend company and have come up with enough money to buy three seperate buses. I will allow engine placement to be decided by you guys because I purchased a Ferrari powered by two turbo slants which I will drive in front of the buses. Would this make the pretend team happy? Keep in mind I dont have infinite money since I spent $250k on my new ride but dont worry - the team franchise covered it.

I know, right? Two Supercharged 6.0L V12s sound so much better.

You don't truly understand your car 100% until you can do a J-turn burnout in fifth gear. Even more impressive when you only have 3 gears.

Those plugs are waay overdue for a replacement, I'd start there.
I noticed that my car has been smoking from the engine bay, specifically around the back where the fuel injection unit is (but not necessarily from the fuel injection unit). I don't notice it while driving or even when I stop unless I am in direct sunlight or I open the hood (smoke is very faint). I know my car leaks oil, so is it just oil dripping onto something hot and burning or should I be concerned?
Any time smoke is coming out of your car from somewhere it shouldn't be you should be concerned, yes.
This is porn
