ABC is reporting that a group of armed robbers robbed a GameStop in Houston, Texas, where gamers were queuing up for the midnight launch of GTA 5 on new-gen consoles. The hooded crooks used a taser on one customer, robbed everyone of their cash and cell phones and took some cash from the store’s register. Thankfully, no one got hurt.
http://www.vg247.com/2014/11/19/gamers-queuing-up-for-midnight-launch-of-gta-5-robbed-by-armed-crooks/

hahahahahahahahahahaha fox will have fun with this one
This happened at the halo 3 release, At an outdoor shopping center one of the dark lit passage ways to the parking lot had muggers stealing legendary editions (The one with the helmet) chucking it in their car and just kept nabbing them. Scumbags.

i blame the video games
So there's a line full of customers worth of trackable cell phones they stole?
This happened in Texas, and they did not get shot right off the bat?
So there's a line full of customers worth of trackable cell phones they stole?
I know it's not that rare for them to forget to turn them off but they probably just did.
Did they ever get caught or no
have no clue
The hooded crooks used a taser on one customer

Thankfully, no one got hurt.
??
This happened in Texas, and they did not get shot right off the bat?
Contrary to the popular belief, not everyone in Texas carries guns around with them everywhere.
This happened in Texas, and they did not get shot right off the bat?
You know Texas is a civilized place for the most part, right? We do have open carry and conceal carry licenses one can acquire, but very few people use it. Also attempting to pull a gun on somebody who already has a taser pointed at you is a bad idea. You'll just get tased, and probably get your gun taken too.
Didn't a similar story pop up with the last gen release as well?
this is why pc is better we just use steam and dont go outside where we can get mugged
I know it's not that rare for them to forget to turn them off but they probably just did.
I think at least newer iPhones can't be turned off when locked, and on Android devices you can opt to deactivate that option similarly (at the very least with a root app, but I think it's built-in on a few devices anyway). That's probably the only good thing about the unremovable batteries almost all phones have now. (Mine doesn't, I can buy knock-off batteries and effectively expand the maximum battery life by one full charge for each ~3.5€ spent )
Rockstar taking marketing stunts a tad too far this time.

I doubt it was a taser, they probably meant stun gun. Tasers can only be purchased by law enforcerment, and only used once before needing reloaded. Not really available or ideal for a potential robber.
??
taser could technically kill someone with a heart condition http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taser_safety_issues#Risk_of_fire_injury http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taser_safety_issues#Deaths_and_injuries_related_to_Taser_use

Thats pretty tame honestly, at least in Florida. During the Cod:MW2 release, a kid got kidnapped along with his copy of the game in my town.
