I dont know if its nostalgia or just being a kid when these games came out but videogames just "felt" so much more awesome pre current-generation in my opinion.

It's funny because now everyone is nostalgic about Halo, but a few years ago on FP everyone bitched about Halo like they do Call of Duty now.

Regardless, the Halo series is truly a great game series, and it brings a tear to my eyes. I remember playing the demo for the first one on PC and playing through that island assault. Such an awesome experience.

Halo 2 was balls to the walls awesome. It was ridiculous the amount of time I spent playing split-screen or fucking around with all the secrets in the campaign.

Halo 3 was more or less forgotten by me. Now, that's not to say I didn't enjoy it, but I played it less than the other two. I think by then I had already moved on.

ODST and Reach went completely by me (due to me not owning a 360 at that point).

Same here. Made it to 3 and didn't bother with the rest and for some reason found all these additions annoying. I guess I was just satisfied with 3's ending.

I don't even have an Xbox anymore so whatever.

I've always loved Halo's sound tracks, they've always been really well done, probably the most memorable for me would have to be "Rock Anthem to save the world" when you are coming back from the cartographer in Halo 1:((Even if they did ruin it in Halo CEA, but you can on demand switch back to the classic soundtrack, so I'm happy))

Although, on the speak of nostaligia, I never owned a 360 until last year, but before that I used to play halo 1 and halo 2 on the PC(still do from time to time) and on xbox at my mates house, when I finally got a 360 I had bought halo 3 beforehand, JUST so I could play it as soon as I got a 360, loved every moment of it, I got reach a few days later, and have played the everloving daylights out of it, I loved the change in characters... it's a bit fresh

I personally think they should of left Chief off to his unknown fate in Halo 4 and start anew, but I'm sure either way, we'll still have the monks:

I remember Halo 3 so well just because of it's custom games - they were fucking amazing, so much creativity.

And mouse kingdom (A map I made) with Facepunchers was so much fun.

I used to think Halo was really shitty because they charge for map packs and stuff

but COD has shown me how bad things can actually get, at least Bungie put effort into their sequels and spent years doing new engines for each game

Halo 1, Halo 2, and Halo 3 I liked the most, I kinda quit after Halo 3 because I was not going to pay $60 just to play with friends, I kinda played Reach with friends, but I didn't get hooked because I wanted a continuation of 3, not before 1. They need to start making em on PC aswell

Agreed. I used to think the whole idea behind the Halo map-packs was ridiculous and hated it, but honestly they were more than reasonable when compared against modern DLCs. Hell, for the most part the maps were original and very well made. I never purchased them, but looking back they didn't seem that bad.

Halo reach was good but the single player wasn't as good as the orginal 3. When you are first playing halo 1 and 2 the world is still not known to you and you are learning all these great new things and plot elements and 3 finishes it off while in reach you already know whats going to happen.

Halo is by far my favorite console fps. It stuck to its story and never went down the bullshit path. It was immersive and, dare I say, "Epic". They will always hold a special place in my heart. For some reason, there are many people that hate on the games, but I find them flawless.
