• Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Florida estate to be submerged by rising sea levels due to climate change
Donald Trump once said climate change was a “hoax” invented by the Chinese but the phenomenon could be responsible for flooding his own Florida properties. Environmental experts lined up to testify at a senate hearing on climate change this week, just four miles from Mr Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, arguing that water could rise so high by the end of the century that the President’s own resorts would be damaged. According to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the President’s so-called Winter White House would be partially submerged if sea levels rose by three feet in the next 83 years. “Today we sit at ground zero of the impacts of climate change in the US,” said Democratic Senator Bill Nelson, ranking member of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. His state has already suffered multiple cases of serious flooding. “And while there are still some who continue to deny climate change is real, South Florida offers proof that it is real and it's an issue we're going to be grappling with for decades to come.”
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-climate-change-mar-a-lago-florida-flooded-sea-level-rise-global-warming-winter-white-a7677596.html
If he doesn't turn it into a underground sea base I will be severely let down.
that water could rise so high by the end of the century that the President’s own resorts would be damaged.
It won't affect him majorly in his own lifetime, his beliefs on Global Warming won't change cause of something that'll happen in 83 years.
While its funny, this seems to be omitted:
arguing that water could rise so high by the end of the century that the President’s own resorts would be damaged.
I mean really, while I'm not disagreeing that its terrible to deny something so obvious, but he'll be long dead before he sees it happen. I came in thinking the flooding will happen during his term.
He would just build a wall to keep the illegal water out. Really though, as people mentioned I doubt it will have impact on Trump. Thats pretty much the mentality of many people who oppose the idea of climate change. Gotta make profit now, what happens after me is not my problem.
"Not my lifetime not my problem" seems to be the motto of conservative politicians these days. As a result millenials are getting fucked in every hole and all the people who caused it will be long dead when the effects really start to set in.

Even if Trump knew the seriousness of the threat that climate change poses (which he probably does), he wouldn't give a shit. He's a self-serving profiteer, and doesn't care what happens past the end of his own life. Trump's philosophy is to leave tomorrow's crises to tomorrow's world, because today those crises are exploitable for power and profit. We knew the problems that the world would be facing, but still allowed our self-serving political leadership to charge full bore into the worst environmental and economic crisis of modern human history.
To be fair, do we even have an era of US history that we can remember without disgust and outrage?
Apparently Trump's supporters do. "Make America Great Again" implies that there was a golden age of some kind.
He would just build a wall to keep the illegal water out.
This is not an outrageous idea, and will probably be necessary in some locations as the sea level rises more. "Look how far we've come!" could be said at any point in human history. The present always looks good without the burden of deep retrospection.

That's exactly what she did. (e: If that comes off as rude, I don't fault you for not watching them, just curious)
