A member of Russia's parliament has asked prosecutors to determine whether Apple violated Russia's ban on gay "propaganda" when it delivered U2's latest album to a half-billion iTunes users for free last year. Izvestia, a newspaper loyal to the Kremlin, reported Wednesday that it has a copy of Alexander Starovoitov's appeal to prosecutors in which he says the cover of the album "Songs of Innocence" shows two men "in a display of non-traditional sexual relations." In fact, the cover shows the band's drummer embracing his 18-year-old son, both of them shirtless. It is not yet clear whether prosecutors will open an investigation. Some of those in Russia who ridiculed Starovoitov's appeal drew a comparison to the time in 2006 when President Vladimir Putin kissed a small boy's bare stomach.
http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory/russian-lawmaker-sees-apples-u2-album-gay-propaganda-30701271
That's why I always say "no homo" when I hug my dad.
That's why I always say "no homo" when I hug my dad.
one often meets their destiny on the path they take to avoid it
Russia on the other hand says no Bono.
As opposed to pro Bono?

Sorry, probably terrible NSFW. Display of a non-traditional sexual relations: You can open your eyes now. For some low-res eyebleach, here, have a display of our dear leader's fatherly love to the children of our great nation, and through them, to all of us:
What's with Russia and homophobia anyways? Godwin's Law and all that but I'm seriously drawing parallels between Hitler scapegoating the Jews with Putin's propaganda war against the gays.
What's with Russia and homophobia anyways? Godwin's Law and all that but I'm seriously drawing parallels between Hitler scapegoating the Jews with Putin's propoganda war against the gays.
Putin actually has nothing to do with it. It's a couple of pretty high-ranking (inside their own departments and commissions) parliament members with reeeeeeeally shady past pushing for this shit and media picking it up and running with it, making free publicity to these morons and providing the image of public support. Putin's government doesn't really care about this sort of shit, they're far too busy lining their pockets. I blame closets. If it weren't for these damn things, homosexual parliament members wouldn't have anywhere to hide and make impression of strict traditionalists.
Russia has a very macho culture. Being gay is seen as not masculine, and therefore is stamped out at every possible opportunity.

All I have to say to that dude is "U2"
snip
Ban U2 for being boring, not for the damn album cover.
Russia on the other hand says no Bono.
Fairly certain Russia keeps saying "No Invasion"
Ban U2 for being boring, not for the damn album cover.
They needed an excuse to ban U2 for being U2.
Why is every picture of Putin in SH absolutely hilarious?
In fact, the cover shows the band's drummer embracing his 18-year-old son, both of them shirtless.
bro, its just a manly bro-ey father bro
Why is every picture of Putin in SH absolutely hilarious?
It's hard enough finding a picture of him where he doesn't look funny.
All my friends with iPads can't find a way to delete the album (maybe they're not looking hard enough), also you can't see the jeans very well because the art seems to be a little cut off on the device itself. "Why do I have to have this gay shit?" is a question they must be pondering daily.
