Asda, owned by the US consumer giant Wal-Mart, has half a million products on offer. US shops traditionally offer big discounts on the Friday after the US Thanksgiving holiday. These offers have been increasingly common in the UK in recent years. The rush to secure the best deal, however, led to one women ending up in hospital. The ambulance service confirmed that it was called to an incident at a west Belfast shopping centre, where a fight had broken out at an Asda branch.
Not sure if good or bad thing
Not sure if good or bad thing
Bad.
Not sure if good or bad thing
People being hospitalized due to fighting over discounts? I dunno, sounds like a good thing.
People being hospitalized due to fighting over discounts? I dunno, sounds like a good thing.
I thought he ment just Black Friday being a thing overseas.
Not sure if good or bad thing
stupid, in my opinion. retailers are always looking for the next best reason for a sale, and that's not going to change, but to adopt black friday is just ridiculous - we don't even celebrate thanksgiving!
Hurrah embrace the consumer drones
I'm looking forward to the future Brack Friday Bunduru.
Why adapt a tradition that has no relation to your country, its religion or anything really. Time to start celebrating tomb sweeping day

No just do Christmas sales or boxing day sales not this stupid murder each other shit for one day.
tbh I'm more disheartened by that hashtag it's in goddamn print
wasn't there a southpark episode or a simpsons one that was about this
Sweden has Black Friday bullshit now as well. But it is online since Swedes are afraid of each other and the deals are pathetic. 10% discount on a nvidia gtx 770/760 gpu. BIGGEST SALE OF THE YEAR in all caps is what they call it. They always do crappy super weekends and stuff too. Last week during a website's SUPER WEEKEND RUSH a laptop had a 2% discount.
People being hospitalized due to fighting over discounts? I dunno, sounds like a good thing.
Sounds like FUN!

For fucks sake. They've shoved Halloween already down our throats, not Black Fridays too... Though those thanksgiving turkeys do seem tasty.
If they didnt kill off the natives we wouldnt have this problem.
black friday is a fucking pathetic joke should be renamed "you get to pay what americans would normally pay instead of 50% more: the day" one deal was some toothbrush, 50% off, for 40 bucks so I looked in america, and it was already 40 bucks without the deal if you're going to shove this black friday shit in our face, actually give us deals
Not sure if good or bad thing
I'd say good because only the last person alive should be entitled to the good deals. Just be glad there isn't a gun shop around every corner. Black friday shootouts would be bad.
I was waiting for this to happen as soon as the asda advert came on about black friday, I just knew something like this would happen
The title Black Friday sounds so ominous.
Soon, the disease will spread across the world
better fuckin not be, it's busy enough at the supermarket where I work already and it's not even december
I have mixed feelings about Black Friday. I mean, I like the idea of going out with friends to see the insanity unfold while also scooping up some decent savings; but the animalistic behavior is almost too much.
Black Friday should be considered a spectator sport. Just plop a chair and some popcorn down in front of the store (maybe to the side a little) and watch the tackling ensue. Shout "GOAAAAAAL" every time someone makes it through the doors with a purchase without getting rammed into by someone else.
Damnit I missed it, I was at an Asda yesterday too
The title Black Friday sounds so ominous.
We have Black Friday sales in Norway. We also have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Friday_(1945)
