Roskomnadzor, which also regulates telecoms, says it's seen a growth in the number of websites offering letters to Grandfather Frost which collect children's personal details. In a post on the VKontake social network it says it's investigating 76 such sites. The suggested letter is rather formal, but opens in traditional fashion with blank spaces for children to fill in their first name, age and good behaviour. "This year I have been studying very well... I was obedient to my parents," the letter template reads, before adding a few lines on the weather. "They say that you give presents to children for the New Year. Please give me and my parents [blank]. I would be very grateful for this present. Thank you!"

The idea is actually kinda creepy. All those letters with "North Pole" address line, maybe someone in Greenland is collecting them, scanning, data mining, and uploading it onto the deep web and making money off of it.
Santa's hired elves to upload personal info of kids on his naughty list to the deep web.
That way you can somewhat estimate the time the country is stuck in
i for one don't mind going back to the 00's
It's actually a great way for companies to harvest data for the upcoming season to benchmark sales aswell as to help refine their target audiences. It's kind of like a customer survey about preferences, but one that they gladly fill up without giving them any incentive since it's part of a tradition. That being said, if anything this will make the information easier to tabulate, since it will come in predefined places and categories, but whatever floats their boat, I guess.
i for one don't mind going back to the 00's
I wouldn't mind trying the 50's for a week or two. But unfortunately North Korea is a shithole
