Does anyone else get unreasonably angry at the super unrealistic cringey dialogue that Ubisoft puts into their gameplay trailers?
Does anyone else get unreasonably angry at the super unrealistic cringey dialogue that Ubisoft puts into their gameplay trailers?
I dont get angry but it certainly doesn't add much more than white noise.
It's just really cringeworthy. Like they're trying to be hip and with the crowd. Like when you see an outdated meme or word on TV
eh, its like a cross between a prerendered footage trailer and pure gameplay trailer. yeah, its scripted dialogue delivered by actors, but i see it as more just telling a story in conjunction with the gameplay they show off. its an artistic thing, a way of making the trailer more interesting
To me, it just adds to the stupendously high level of bullshit that it's meant to be interplayer co-ordination doing all that rather than editing and manipulation of the game code to sell the game. Dunkey's video is far more accurate to how any effort in co-ordination in video games goes. It's no Michael Bay film, it's Random Arma Bullshittery.

Only 3 minutes :(
If someone ever uses military jargon with me in a game, I'm teamkilling them.
If someone ever uses military jargon with me in a game, I'm teamkilling them.
stay frosty
theres nothing stopping you and your friends from playing armchair generals if you want to
If someone ever uses military jargon with me in a game, I'm teamkilling them.
Copy that. You got a tango on your six. Watch your nines
If someone ever uses military jargon with me in a game, I'm teamkilling them.
you better not play arma then
theres nothing stopping you and your friends from playing armchair generals if you want to
Well, for starters I don't have any friends. Secondly, I have no military training or even the slightest incling on how a modern military unit functions. Thirdly, there will always be That Guy.
It's like aliens came down and tried to replicate human interaction. Some businesses are so disconnected from the public they are reaching extraterrestrial levels.
Does anyone else get unreasonably angry at the super unrealistic cringey dialogue that Ubisoft puts into their gameplay trailers?
Brace for PvP!
The problem isn't the way they scripted their ad, it's the way that just isn't the right way to play wildlands if you look at it for more than five minutes A guy with an M60 can wipe out an entire camp in less than it'd take for three people to take sniping positions around it, the aforementioned grenades are very powerful, the stealth is underdeveloped as all hell. You can shoot a lock to let three rebels loose who will remove an entire 10-man force while you just watch. Playing it slow and stealthy or not looking around for an easily-found minigun 4x4 before you go assault a convoy is just slow and inefficient, and since you need to be progressing to get more gameplay features, it's not as fun.
Does anyone else get unreasonably angry at the super unrealistic cringey dialogue that Ubisoft puts into their gameplay trailers?
i got used to most of it but it's extra stupid when they start whispering when sneaking around it'd be much more appealing to people who play games to show funny non-scripted gameplay, but unfortunately game journalists do not fall under this category
thanks cowboy :)
it'd be much more appealing to people who play games to show funny non-scripted gameplay, but unfortunately game journalists do not fall under this category
That's one reason, the other one is game developers and publishers generally have a certain vision of how their game should be played. Why would they advertise other ways of playing it? That stands despite the fact that the intended/advertised way is almost always unrealistic. It's like RS:Siege all over again, the trailers have absolutely nothing in common with the actual gameplay even though it's still fun. At the same time, while I get why it's done the way it is, I really-really would like them to tone down this shit with pretend 'player' dubbing.
Just having this classic Viklund tune in the background makes the original trailer way more interesting that it was, at least there's good music to somewhat drown out the bad dialogue.
The dunkey gameplay looks better than the official gameplay trailer wtf
Does anyone else get unreasonably angry at the super unrealistic cringey dialogue that Ubisoft puts into their gameplay trailers?
Watching this the first few minutes I literally said to myself "Wow, this game's got TERRIBLE voice acting." until I actually realized what was going on and thought to myself "Oh god it's one of those acted gameplay dialogues they did with The Divison trailers."

We were trying to clear out one of the bigger camps and we pretty much had to be completely stealthy the whole time and try to sneak past any enemy we don't have to kill since if we got detected, we'd die pretty damn quickly.
