nintendo takes it down for copywrite.
and then SEGA will be just like "wtf man"
This really reminds me of the old Sonic Robo Blast 2 project from way back when for some reason.
Jeez, is that even still in development?
EDIT: Just googled it, it sorta still is. Huh.
Really loving the CD animation inspirations and the unique take it has on 3D gameplay compared to the rest of the series in that it truly is momentum-based.

Not only that, I'm also hearing gratuitous use of sound effects from the 1996 Sonic the Hedgehog movie. .. Also based off of CD, loosely.
Really the whole thing looks and sounds great already.
How many freaking times does the Checkerboard hills need to be remade? Try something like star light zone for a change.
Looks sort of boring; I could see it being more enjoyable if they had a sort of Guild Wars sort of Boss system in these huge maps to make it less empty.
I wish 3D Sonic fangames took a smaller, more confined approach to their levels.
Sure, Sonic games have been known for their various paths and hidden stuff, but I'm sure you could cram a level with 5 various paths that interject in some way and loads of secret ring monitors and goodies in a smaller environment than in a gigantic open world with 50 ways to reach the goal, yet looks barren from the first look of it.
It looks really great graphically, though, they absolutely nailed that
I'm guessing that the level shown in this video is more like a playground for the devs to properly get a feel and adjust the mechanics. Designing proper levels for this thing is going to be a nightmare, but if they pull it off it could be great
Texture-work gives it all this amazing feel of speed, it's such a great touch. Movement also looks very satisfying.
Oh boy this sure isn't gonna get CnD'd.

It's Sega so there's a good chance it won't.
They've been pretty good to the community recently with sonic.
It's downloadable for those who haven't tried it out
Watching these guys do it is insane, because holy shit is it hard to get and keep the kind of momentum they have, but when you do it's super fun.
Promising, can't wait to see what they do with the engine

I fucked around with it a bit more, found at least two hidden areas.
I personally am having a blast.

It's a simple and familiar aesthetic they can put in without too much difficulty working on texturing early on in order to get a first level or something. This is a tech demo moreso than anything full, after all.

Sega doesn't usually mess with its fan games
Both download links are overloaded, anyone got another mirror?

You know you've fucked up when Sonic can make fun of your draconian policies and treatments towards consumers and fans.
Looks quite fun and impressive. Reminds me of the Doom Sonic hack.
THIS is what Generations 2's Classic Sonic should be.

I really love this community, especially when it gets along well finally.

It wouldn't really be classic Sonic in that case then?
It wouldn't really be classic Sonic in that case then?
I mean, judging by the devs saying Project Sonic 2017 isn't Generations 2, we can presume Classic Sonic is an additional character in an overall story rather than half the game with a different playstyle.
Besides, I think this adheres nicely to Classic Sonic in 3D, even with the homing attack. Modern Sonic is probably gonna still be pretty boost happy unless they change up the gameplay again.

Sega literally has nothing to lose with a fangame since they already fucked up Sonic
I still miss Sonic Fan Remix. That's back when SEGA wasn't so nice. Such BS too because it had so much potential. This does look pretty cool though, I love the old aesthetic.

I mean, that's kinda always what Sonic/Sega has done when compared to Nintendo, since the 90s. Like when Nintendo fought to kick the Game Genie off of the NES, Sega made it an officially licensed product. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Just love it when Sonic's feet blend into a cartoony rubber bands.

And most projects never get much further. Would help the projects stand out more too.

I'm pretty that was the time where people thought sega couldn't make a classic sonic again (due to sonic 4 being absolute crap), and they proved everyone wrong with generations. It made sense they weren't very nice with that one.
