This is an upcoming movie from Disney slated to hit theaters later this year. It's a pretty typical example of typical aimed-at-children Disney fare save for the fact that, due to budget considerations, instead of a live action adaptation of the original book as originally planned, the executives instead opted to animate the movie in a manner that causes the CG humans to appear[I] as lifelike as physically possible[/I]. The end result isn't for the most part a visual masterpiece as you'd expect that to be(although children being children and hence non-saavy wouldn't care), because in practice doing something like this without [B]really [I]REALLY [/I] [/B]knowing what you are doing causes the end result to appear like it crawled out of the depths of the Uncanny Valley and make you wish you had a gallon jug of Eye Bleach nearby.
Just watch the video trailer. If it isn't the least bit unsettling to you, congratulations, so to speak. If it is, you'll wish you had a linoleum spork to gouge out your eyes. :froggonk:

What's the point of using CGI if you're just going to make the characters disturbingly realistic? I liked the other Disney CGI films' design alot (The Incredibles' character design is a great example), it's good that they're getting alot better at animation technology, but they've overdone it here.
On topic, this film looks fucking awful.

The animation looks similar to that Polar Express film. I don't like it. Want to see the movie though

After that line I knew the movie was going to be shit. The joke was so unoriginal it almost made me leave the theater just because of that preview trailer.
The animation makes all the characters have dead eyes, freaking me out.
