20,000 tickets to see Donald Trump sold to theatre with capacity of 1,400 in Burlington, VT
Vermonters who plan to see Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speak on Thursday should prepare for "airport-like" security and sizable crowds after the campaign issued tickets for more than 10 times the number of available seats, the Flynn Center's executive director says.

“If Phish was holding a free concert at the Flynn and gave away 20,000 free tickets, we would cancel the event out of public safety concerns,” the chief said. “We are committed to accommodating the campaign because political speech is the very essence of the First Amendment.”
Quite interesting, the whole area of this "city" will be closed down due to protests and a massive influx of people. I wonder if this is what Trump wants, since this is literally the least likely place statistically in the nation to vote for him. His campaign purposely sold WAY more tickets than there is seating, probably to get money. There's already people lining up. I live down the street will report back with any chaos.

That tears it... Trump Doesn't want to be President... He just want's to run.

This guy doesn't sound like he's received a generous donation from the Trump campaign at all. "This is unsafe and we know it, but uh, free speech? Let's go with that."
Maybe the place'll burn to the ground. That's a lot of Trump supporters:excited:
But seriously, that's kinda dangerous. 18,600 over capacity.

"if it was a bunch of dirty hippies, we'd cancel the event, buuut..."
Can we compare this to other candidates
And what if his whole campaign is just a show to get money

I doubt it's many Trump supporters. It's gonna be a shitshow. I know someone who goes to Champlain College and took a free ticket just to take one up. She's a Bernie supporter and won't be going. Seeing as how liberal Burlington is and the fact that it's where Bernie started his career, I suspect a lot of people will not be attending or will not be there to show support.

It wouldn't shock me. I imagine he's turning profits left and right since his ramblings make for a perfect viral ad campaign and drones snap up his merch and tickets.
If he was elected would he have to give up his businesses? I feel like one could easily make the case that his administration would be heavily biased in favor of his own business interests.

They are only letting 1,400 in the theater, obviously, but there will be thousands and thousands on main street. The city can not take this.
I'm also upset with the people protesting. We know he's not going to win this state. Just ignore him.

I doubt 20000 will be trying to fit into the stadium, most likely a large portion of those tickets were just to show support

I agree. The Trump campaign is being fueled by outrage and people are throwing gasoline on the fire. He's basically a Sith lord.
