U.S. President Barack Obama has offered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediate talks to upgrade the Israel Defense Forces’ offensive and defensive capabilities in the wake of the deal on Iran’s nuclear program, a senior U.S. official told Haaretz.
http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/1.666205 https://archive.is/Smh0P http://www.theonion.com/article/us-soothes-upset-netanyahu-shipment-ballistic-miss-50842
the really world will put the onion out bussiness and this is not a good thing. ..
Isn't this the kind of shit that made Jon Stewart quit? Feeling like he was living in a parody of his own reality?
I'm not well-versed when it comes to this stuff, but I don't think the solution is giving them more weapons.
I've been reading about the deal for a while, While visibly Israel was upset, behind the scenes they are happy. Essentially by doing deals like this, we are giving them the better capability to strike Iran in the event Iran turns its back on the deal. Least that is how I understood it. Israel already had the capability, we just helped upgrade it even more. If Iran plays nice, and presuming Netenyahu doesn't go too crazy, nothing happens. Presuming Iran turns on the deal, or Netenyahu goes crazy, Israel, and perhaps Saudi Arabia will bomb Iranian nuclear sites.
You know there is a big problem when your Prime Minister cheers up when he gets ballistic missiles. (User was banned for this post ("Didn't read the article and just read the onion headline" - BANNED USER))
What if the Onion is the only true news source on the planet, and everyone else lies? :tinfoil:

Seriously though, increased aid to Israel when the Iran deal is finalized has been on the table for a very long time now, so its not like the Onion pulled it completely out of their asses. They just phrased what everyone knew is happening into an amusing title. Netanyahu's official stance on it, at least according to him, is that he is refusing aid at this point and still fighting the Iran deal. In reality he will probably have to put up appearances of fighting the deal for a while now because his entire platform for reelection was OMFG IRAN NUKES!!!! Eventually he'll probably take whatever Obama gives him and pretend it's a great victory. See here:
But, as in previous talks with Mr. Obama, Mr. Netanyahu refused to engage in such talk “at this juncture,” the officials said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to detail the private discussions. And on Tuesday, as administration officials fanned out to make the case for the Iran agreement, one aide suggested in a phone call to Jewish and pro-Israel groups that Mr. Netanyahu had rebuffed their overtures because he believes accepting them now would be tantamount to blessing the nuclear deal, say people involved in the call who did not want to be quoted by name in describing it.
