As you may or may not know, a tulip joint is essentially a cone of marijuana and/or tobacco on the end of an oversized roach secured with string or an elastic band, like so:

My question is this; has anyone has any experience with them? And if so would you recommend smoking them? Only I've been smoking regular joints for a while now and feel like experimenting a bit.
tried it in my early days, its great to smoke with a group of 4 to 5 max.
A guy I hang with was adamant about smoking A tulip joint. They're pretty neat to smoke i suppose. They work for a group of around 6, so i guess looking at Zeemlapje, 4-6.
they take a bit of practice too. Also, make sure the bud isn't too dry or the thing almost seems to vaporize.
I've smoked a few of these, except we roll a 2 paper joint instead of the long roach.
Smoked one, can't roll one to be honest.
As stated before me, works great in groups, only i get the feeling that i'm wasting a lot.
Just roll up a bunch of pinners, they'll last you much longer.
They are pretty awesome. More of a look-thing, good for groups of up 5 or so. But they are pretty wasteful especially if they are a shorter fatter roll.

Indeed, but it can be countered by adding tobacco ( I honestly can't smoke weed without it, it burns too fast and too hot and i've never really liked the taste)

I usually add rolling tobacco to mine. For me it improves the taste and overall smoothness of the joint.

done it a couple of times. You can put it on a little "barrel" Or you can just put it on a joint.
May I advise not to use the crappy american way to roll the joint. since they probably wont hold. But use the way we do it here in the Netherlands, with a tip (carton that you use as a filter) ya probably know what I mean.

also, yes I'd use tobacco in this thing. it will just fall appart if you don't.

If your joint is going out when there's no tobacco then you need to stop rolling shity joints

Tobbacco is a lot harsher than marijuana...
Far more. Also, it's a blunt when there is no tobacco, doesn't matter if it's rolled with papers or tobacco leaves. It is only considered a joint/spliff if its a mix of both marijuana and tobacco - this is what we consider it anyway in our area.
Where I am (Arizona, Cali, and Oregon) everyone I know only calls it a blunt if it's in a leaf.
Fuck that I'd never contaminate my joints with that poison.
Never tried a tulip though, seems like a bit of a novelty thing. I'll roll one when I have some weed to waste.

What are you, 10? Sprinkling tobacco in joints wont kill you; it saves you weed.
Spliffs are amazing. In joints it is sad to see it go so fast.

So the general consensus is that tulip joints are a good thing? I heard that they get you [I]baked.[/I] Also I heard that rather than using a long roach some people use a straight joint, would this support the weight of the 'bulb'?
long roach out of A4 paper is the best, u get stoned yeah but its just a smoking device designed for a group of 4 or 5 people because it stays lit rly long.
