Smoke from the fires cast an early morning haze over Vancouver and an eerie pall over Victoria on Sunday. Ash was reported falling on buildings and cars in several areas from Horseshoe Bay to Vancouver.
[t]http://www.vancouversun.com/news/cms/binary/11190286.jpg?size=620x400s[/t] At least this will roast a good portion of those damn pine-beetles. And what a beautiful sky! seriousness aside I'd love to see that in person it looks oddly pretty
It sucks, you can't really breath, or be outside. it was cool to wake up to, as it was oddly beautiful, but got old, really fast.
It was so surreal waking up to an orange-yellow world today. [t]https://i.imgur.com/YFn7fh5.jpg[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/eXiL49U.jpg[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/vVqGV81.jpg[/t] Those photos have not been run through any Instagram filters. And that's the sun in the latter two photos.
Seems like every summer BC just erupts into flames.
Looks a bit like the apocalypse.
I was in California, like 10 years ago when there was a crazy wildfire and we had stuff like this where ash covered everything like snow. haircherrys is right, it sucks and going outside you can just feel how bad breathing that shit is for you.
It was clear all day here in my town. Got inside at 6PM just went outside at about 10PM and the sky is covered in smoke and outside smells like burning.

Thats really spooky.
Victoria resident here, will confirm it being really fucking weird.
what does it smell like?
what does it smell like?
Air quality was definitely shittier than normal; I went outside and my eyes were getting irritated and my breath just a bit short as if I was in a room with pot smokers. Didn't have a distinctive smell/taste that I could tell, just the irritation of fine ash. It wasn't awful but if I'd had to work outside all day or something that would've sucked and I would've wanted a dust-filter mask or a home early from the air quality.
what does it smell like?
I actually didn't smell anything, it was too far up, at least downtown. It was nice actually, the cloud blocked out the sun which made the whole city stupid hot.
I live in victoria, and it was super cool going past the beach today with the warm orange lighting everywhere and on the water and shit. It's beautiful [editline]6th July 2015[/editline] the world was lit like the doom 4 E3 demos
I'm in the valley and I could definitely smell it today. It's been so smokey and hazy today, an hour ago I saw the sun and it was red and you could stare right at it.
it was nice in cowichan because as a result it wasnt 40 degrees today
From the Tri-Cities area, the mountains to the north looked like they were engulfed with some orange fog, and I suspect the smell of burning wood came from those fires

I have a light case of pink eye happening in my left eye right now and when I woke up and the world had this amber-orange glow happening, I was like, what the fuck did you do to me, pink eye? And then I realized, no, the world is just yellow-orange today.
I had no idea there was so many BC facepunchers
Where do you victoria guys live?? [editline]6th July 2015[/editline] Oak bay^
Also, nice to see that Google understands BC's reputation:
Where do you victoria guys live?? [editline]6th July 2015[/editline] Oak bay^
View Royal. I am moving across the country in a few months though.
Also, nice to see that Google understands BC's reputation:
Smoke is a well recognized weather pattern and shows up in every weather service when relevant.
If the smoke persisted then the FP BC people could have gotten together and play neft battle with a boombox playing. gasmasks are a plus.
I live in the lower mainland (the cities seen to the east of the mega smoke cloud) It's hazy here but it's not really that bad. The sun was the reddest I've ever seen though, very pretty.
Smoke is a well recognized weather pattern and shows up in every weather service when relevant.
...yes, that's understood. The joke is that BC's known for pot.
