so, does this mean there is a good chance of episode VII not sucking?
Every new piece of news gives me more hope that this will be a worthy successor. Episode 5 was arguably the best one, I know a lot of people I've spoken to seem to think so, so having the writer on board can only mean good things.
Not to mention that Kasdan also wrote Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Then again, he also wrote and directed Dreamcatcher, so make of that what you will.

There is every chance that it still will...
At least now there is a new hope that it won't.
wait, i thought michael arndt was writing it?
He left this week.

i still get massive shivers in the first star destroyer fleet scene where the Imperial March plays for the first time

I dunno, after seeing Star Trek Into Darkness I'm worried the movie will be filled with too many action scenes and references.

I'm waiting for the "I got a bad feeling about this"... "PUNCH IT!"

Apparently J.J. Abrams wasn't the biggest fan of his script. Like at all. I'm afraid the new script might be more Abrams' than Kasden's.
Just keep Damon Lindelof away please.
I loved the technical details of Into Darkness, but the story and references and everything was garbage.
It was like whoever wrote it had never seen any star trek ever. I wish it wasn't a rehash of WOK, because "alternate reality!!!!1111!"
abrams didn't write into darkness so that movie's script is irrelevant
Listening to that Imperial March theme... I just realized the Empire is supposed to be an analog for Space Nazis.
