Only source I have so far, along with another mention on Facebook, though, figured this is the most reputable.

In short, the original story was published on a satire news site, then spread from there onto the Malta newspaper site, and then spread on from there.

We have a story every 2 weeks about ships full of Africans sinking killing and 300 people. I can understand the anti-immigrant viewpoint but saying that anything these people have to go through is easy is a bit dumb.
