Relay For Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. People come together year-round and raise money to be donated to research and helping ones that battled, and are battling cancer. The American Cancer society uses this money for research, financial support for families who cannot pay off medical payments, provide free care for those receiving treatment, provide food and clothing, buying equipment for hospitals, and the list goes. My friend and I are on our school's Relay for Life club. Both of us have been personally effected by cancer, and we are not alone. We are trying to make a difference in our community to help spread awareness and combat the disease. We are trying our best to reach our goal of $100, our team goal is $1,500 and to surpass the national goal of $100,000 which we came close to last year. I know Facepunch is not big on Donations, but our team motto is that "Every Dollar Counts", which it truly does when it comes to cancer. If anybody would like to donate to help our team, the donation link is here: http://relay.acsevents.org/site/TR/?pg=team&fr_id=40637&team_id=1001254&sso_auth_token=6cbc19062d83b073a6a12451b44042fb9f43d9c7.26357178.22180384 All of the money goes to cancer research, medical aid, and all of the things we have mentioned above. If you would like to know more about Relay for Life you can visit the main website at http://www.relayforlife.org/ My friend and I have also made a "Squidoo Lens" if you guys would like to read it as it offers more info on Relay for Life: http://www.squidoo.com/relay-for-life3 Out of curiosity, have any of you guys ever relayed?
Relay for Life is big around here right now, I get asked 10 times a day if I want to join. I say no 10 times a day. It's for a good cause and everything, but I just rather not do it. Same when people ask for a donations, I rarely ever say yes.

Just doing anything i can to help raise $
We have a couple relays in my area. I went to one last year just to see what it was like, but I'm on a team this year. My mom had thyroid cancer since the first time I went, so I guess I have a more legitimate reason to go this time.
Me and my friends did this because our school requires community service hours. It's actually pretty fun.
