With the global popularity of the Steamworks platform, we’ve seen high demand from fans to bring these highly requested titles to this platform. Moving to Steamworks will allow more fans across the world to enjoy these games. Current owners of these PC titles will be transitioned over to the Steamworks versions early next year.
Thank God. While Games for Windows Live may still be on life support; changing to Steamworks is always a good thing. I've been holding off on buying Resident Evil 5 because I was uncertain how long the online features would be supported and this means the awesome cooperative mode for Dead Rising 2 will live on.
Hurray! Up your chuff GFWL!
Hopefully this can revitalize their success and then port over DR2: Case Zero/Case West content as well.
I'd buy off the record if it was on a sale.
I can go back to Uranus Zone...with extra Steam!
Wouldn't bother with RE5 regardless of gfwl.
£14.99, still expensive for DR2....
Wouldn't bother with RE5 regardless of gfwl.
Personally I found it to be an awesome coop game. I didn't have any relation to previous titles in the series so that probably didn't give me the same expectations as the fans of RE.
£14.99, still expensive for DR2....
get off the record because frank west > chuck "loser" green
Personally I found it to be an awesome coop game. I didn't have any relation to previous titles in the series so that probably didn't give me the same expectations as the fans of RE.
If you're into resident evil this is pretty much the lowest point of the series.
get off the record because frank west > chuck "loser" green
Is that the whole of DR2 map but you just play as West? or?
Resident Evil 5 is a fun, but inferior clone of Resident Evil 4; the coop though is pretty well implemented. I love having to share ammo and supplies with your friend and leads to some legitimate strategy. Resident Evil 6 is more ambitious in terms of game play mechanics, and when it works it's actually a blast to play (Mercanaries mode is really the way to see the game shine). It's unfortunate that the campaigns aren't nearly as fun.
It's a slight glorified expansion, but with Frank West. There are new combo weapons, a new location to visit, two new boss fights ([sp]Psychopathic Chuck doesn't count[/sp]), some new cutscenes (some lines change, some are entirely new, and some are the same as DR2), and you play as a guy who covered wars.

Is that the whole of DR2 map but you just play as West? or?
And a sweet as hell sandbox mode to boot.
Wouldn't bother with RE5 regardless of gfwl.
Thats RE6 you're thinking of.
The devs must be smoking some good crack when they decided not to have a sandbox mode in DR3.
As a big time Dead Rising fan, I've never wanted the Sandbox mode. Without the time limit, I find the game less fun. That said, doesn't Dead Rising 3 not have a Sandbox mode because there is no time limit anymore? You can just goof around at your leisure. Correct me if I'm wrong, I've never played Dead Rising 3.
So the great big 4 hour "Goodbye gfwl" bash me and a friend did was for nothing? [t]http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/580151431283383050/29DBBD0899764709A70423031FE73297A48AF339/[/t] God dammit.
The devs must be smoking some good crack when they decided not to have a sandbox mode in DR3.
to be honest, the time limit is a whole 7 days. [sp]i finished the game with ~2 and a half days remaining (completed all side missions, maxed out to level 50)[/sp]
Thats RE6 you're thinking of.
re6 was bad but 5 was insultingly bad "mash x to punch boulder" hence: lowest point In case you didn't understand what I said the first time: re5 was the LOWEST POINT of the series.
Both RE5 and RE6 are amazing co-op games. Not very good Resident Evil games though.
No Lost Planet? Fuck you too, Capcom.
Resident Evil 5 is the lowest point in the series, but that's what makes it so good. I think I've said this before, but it's got Wesker teleporting around like Goku throwing missiles from inside a volcano. Its also got solid co-op, but the controls are copied straight from Resident Evil 4 which doesn't work for a 100% action title like this. If you could move while aiming your gun like Gears of War or every other shooter, it would be perfect. Resident Evil 6 sucked so bad it wasn't even fun in an ironic way.
Fuck it, I love all the Resident Evil games.
btw the games are all still playable right now, just beat dead rising 2 with a friend in coop w/ gfwl
How do you do this? I redownloaded it the other day and tried logging in to my XBL/GFWL account, but it kept giving me this 0x8007065b error and nothing could fix it, eventually had to just make a local profile for it.
Resident Evil 5 bothered me because it was like the game expected me to kill 20 enemies and a boss with 5 bullets.
Hopefully this can revitalize their success and then port over DR2: Case Zero/Case West content as well.
I've heard the RE5 DLC is better than the main game. I want it.
Resident Evil 5 bothered me because it was like the game expected me to kill 20 enemies and a boss with 5 bullets.
It isn't explained very well in the game, but you're supposed to conserve bullets by making use of the various melee attacks in the game. Once you shoot someone, they'll stumble and you can hit them with a powerful attack.
I wouldn't mind Deadrising 1 on PC too. Come on Capcom, I'm waiting.
I've heard the RE5 DLC is better than the main game. I want it.
The DLC was good (the beginning of it was the best part), the coop mercs mode was awesome I liked 5&6 as coop games, never played them alone other than mercs but they are really fun coop
If you're into resident evil this is pretty much the lowest point of the series.
are you for real did you not play 6? 5 is actually really fun co-op. it's leagues ahead of 'worst in franchise' re6. [editline]9th September 2014[/editline]
re6 was bad but 5 was insultingly bad "mash x to punch boulder" hence: lowest point In case you didn't understand what I said the first time: re5 was the LOWEST POINT of the series.
this is so ridiculously wrong re6 is filled almost entirely with moments like the boulder one. re5 had the one [editline]9th September 2014[/editline] like im pretty sure you didnt play either of those games?
