Compact and fun, it takes advantage of a new ‘dual-shot’ technique to create a variety of interesting new colours and textures. Dual Shot involves casting two layers of polycarbonate, a single base layer and a second colour, in a transparent or translucent layer, to produce depth effects and secondary colour blends. For example, yellow and cyan are combined to produce an exciting new lime green, our own favourite. What’s more, since the Nokia Lumia 620 uses exchangeable shells, you can change the colour as often as you change your mood with seven shells to choose from. While this may be the most affordable of our three new Windows Phone 8 smartphones, it packs a punch. The 3.8-inch display has the same sunlight readability enhancements as the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820, so you should be able to see what’s on the screen however sunny your surroundings (not a problem for those of us in Finland right now). It also takes advantage of the same Nokia exclusive camera lenses, like Cinemagraph and Smart Shoot, transforming the creative power of the 5-megapixel camera and front-facing VGA camera. Of course it also has the world’s best mapping and location experience, based on the Here platform, with Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia City Lens all available. Of course, with the emphasis on a younger audience, it also has Nokia Music, providing free streaming of ad-free tracks with no subscription or registration required and the ability to download playlists to listen offline. With NFC connectivity, you can easily pair the Nokia Lumia 620 with one of the great speakers from JBL, such as the JBL PlayUp Portable for Nokia, to set your music free. Or if you want to avoid upsetting everyone on the bus, try the Nokia Purity Pro Stereo Headset by Monster for professional audio sounds on the move.

Finally, this is Windows Phone 8, so the Nokia Lumia 620 comes with Live Tiles for updates direct to the Start Screen, PeopleHub for all your address books in one place and a Me Tile to make it easy to post and track notifications across social networks. With Xbox Live, Microsoft Office, 7GB of SkyDrive storage and faster, safer surfing with Internet Explorer 10, it’s hard to know what to do first. You might want to start with Angry Birds Star Wars or Words with Friends – just a suggestion. Excluding any local taxes or operator subsidies, the Nokia Lumia 620 will cost around $249 USD and will be available from Q1 2013.
The specs
Nokia Lumia 620 Networks: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 Display: 3.8” TFT WVGA 800×480, ClearBlack Memory: 512MB RAM (8GB internal memory, Micro SD support up to 64GB) Camera: 5Mpix autofocus, LED flash; Video capture: HD 720p@30fps; VGA front camera Size & weight: 115.4 x 61.1 x 11.02 mm; 127g (including battery) Connectivity: NFC, WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4Ghz + 5Ghz, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS/A-GPS, Glonass, micro-USB, 3.5mm audio connector (AHJ + WP Controls) Processor: 1 GHz Dual Core Snapdragon (TM) S4 Battery Talk time: (GSM/WCDMA) Up to 14.6 h/ up to 9.9 h; Standby time: Up to 330 h
I'm the only one I know that doesn't have a smartphone Hell, even my parents have smartphones [editline]5th December 2012[/editline] Maybe I should get a smartphone
I like to see Nokia making a return, especially with the Windows Phone, I prefer my Lumia 900 Windows Phone to any phone I've ever owned.
it looks pretty
I like to see Nokia making a return, especially with the Windows Phone, I prefer my Lumia 900 Windows Phone to any phone I've ever owned.
My lumia 800 is the best phone I've owned, I need to get the proximeter sensor fixed up because my friend pushed into me causing it to drop It's so frustrating not being able to hang up from calls now
I hear the Lumia line of phones is pretty nice; I've had a few friends say they like them quite a lot with only minor annoyances. I'm actually trying to decide if I want a Lumia, or if I want to just go all in and get a Note II.

Yes and it comes out early next year, and microsoft has announced more support to including -more 7.8 apps -more cheap 7.8 phones and I think we are getting improved social networking, new start menu and rumored is bluetooth file transfer but we'll have to wait and see
Is Windows Phone any good?
Is Windows Phone any good?
Yes really good, here's what the start screen looks like [t]http://puu.sh/1xnfj[/t] Lock screen [t]http://puu.sh/1xnek[/t] Internet exploder [t]http://puu.sh/1xnfx[/t] (that bar isn't with you the whole time, I was just proving a point about how terrible Optus coverage is) [editline]5th December 2012[/editline] It's fast, easy to get around, very socially integrated, apps are good, games are alright, getting shit done excellent. Only downside to 7.5 phones is that it uses zune to sync your stuff and it's literally the worse sync program I've ever used

I'm now without a phone for a few months cause the network I'm on refused to replace it :(
every smatphone looks the same
I love my Lumia 800 but it's had software problems since the day I got it, until last week it died completely for no reason and refused to boot back up.
every smatphone looks the same
Every laptop looks the same. Every car looks the same. Every frying pan looks the same. Every of your shitposts looks the same.
Looks promising, shame you can't tinker with WP8 like you can on Android.
I don't think I would want to change the UI, it's good enough as it is
I want a new phone, my Wildfire S is slow as fuck. :c
That really sucks, it was all in warranty yeah?
I got it on November 20th 2011, it broke on the 23rd last month. Shit sucks but they said they'd repair it for a small fee, better than buying a new phone all together.
I currently own the desire hd and it still works like a charm. however I wouldn't mind trying out a new phone and this one seems like a good option. I'd love to get back to nokia.
I meant more under the hood, and there are always little things that you want changing, look at all the odds and ends available for jailbroken iOS users.
Oh, for that you need dev access which you can get easy but you need to use an exploit in some phones to fully unlock it so you can have regedit and another browser (opera mini)
I'm assuming there's a service plan as usual that will bleed people out? If not I'm interested.
every smatphone looks the same
clearly smart is not a part of your vocabulary
I'm assuming there's a service plan as usual that will bleed people out? If not I'm interested.
It's clearly a phone designed for PAYG plans.
I want a new phone, my Wildfire S is slow as fuck. :c
You should definitely consider one of these, WP is smooth without really being expensive.
I don't think Apple will take kindly to their use of rounded corners and rectangles.
Yes and it comes out early next year, and microsoft has announced more support to including -more 7.8 apps -more cheap 7.8 phones and I think we are getting improved social networking, new start menu and rumored is bluetooth file transfer but we'll have to wait and see
No we don't have to wait because the 7.8 final is already leaked. I'm running the 7.8 RTM build on my Focus and really the only improvement is the new start screen.
If you're looking for a Windows based phone, try out the HTC 8X, my boss has one and he prefers it to every phone ever made, bearing in mind he's owned all the iphones, an S II & S III as well as a HTX 1X.
8x has a shit mic and the camera ain't the best either. Though it is a little cheaper than the 920.
I don't think Apple will take kindly to their use of rounded corners and rectangles.
I believe Apple and Nokia have an agreement on this sort of thing so they don't sue each other for having similar designs.
I'm the only one I know that doesn't have a smartphone Hell, even my parents have smartphones [editline]5th December 2012[/editline] Maybe I should get a smartphone
I don't. Using a nokia e63, has wifi etc which I don't use cause I have a tablet. I only use it to send the odd text now and then.
