All I could focus on were those god damn environments. If I didn't know it was rendered I would swear the characters were just super imposed onto photographs
This. is. Bad.
"I can't go out on the track and do the same thing it won't work" - Lightning McQueen on endless sequels
No please
so the crash has no consequences at all? it's just cars 1 but this time lightning is the mentor? what a waste of pixar resources I expected lightning to be fucked up hard i.e. he can't walk for the rest of his life
That's the most "movie" movie I think I've seen in a while
:why:
Obviously, we're not the target audience for this. Seems like they're trying to do a final wrap-up on McQueen's story as well.

and i noticed the part of the trailer right after the crash was hiding lightning's face. I expected him to have a fucked up face deformity or some sort of device on his body that was keeping him alive. but nope, he's all back to normal, seems to be ready to hit the races again v:v:v [editline]26th April 2017[/editline] this is the most disappointed i've ever been in my favorite movie studio. I truly expected this movie to have a theme about dealing with shattered dreams like Dr. Strange, only the hero is fucked forever.
I feel like this should've been Cars 2 from the start At least then we wouldn't have the bad spy movie. Just a mediocre sequel for a mediocre film.
and yet there is no bugs life 2
The fuck was the point of all the teasers showing Lightning getting super messed up?
I expected lightning to be fucked up hard i.e. he can't walk for the rest of his life
well then i've got good news for you bud - being a car, lightning has never actually walked a day in his life
so the crash has no consequences at all? it's just cars 1 but this time lightning is the mentor? what a waste of pixar resources
It's like Pixar wanted to do this but I imagine this was scrapped because they didn't want to show the kids their favorite car toy is wrecked for the whole film. I would have been fine if McQueen was teaching a new generation car how to race like him due to the damage but noooo we got to have him back in the race. I'm very disappointed in this. Incredibles 2 can't come soon enough. Come back Brad Bird! Come back!!
Wasted Potential 3 When I saw that first trailer I really expected McQueen to be dead or at the very least messed up beyond repair. But as more trailers released, and even the Synopsis being leaked; This movie has turned into one of the bigger disappointments i've ever seen. I mean with a trailer like this.. The film could theoretically write itself as a film about a crippled athlete trying to adjust to his new life. Instead it's wasted on this whole cliche "overcoming your enemies", plot line just to keep the series going..
oh god I almost forgot about this shit
what do cars grill animals are cars too. tractors are cows. theres nothing organic you can grill from a tractor. whats a "mcsteak"
let me start with: this movie doesn't look good however that doesn't mean i'm not glad it exists in one way or another. Something that I gleaned from this trailer is that this is pretty unique as far as a kid's film goes - tackling the prospect of "retirement" and having lived past your glory days. the last one that I can think of doing it was Up, and they pulled that off excellently. pixar's films typically are really great emotional education for a lot of young kids (as are many disney films), and anything that can present the problems of "senior" life to young kids is a-ok in my book. it's not a concept that gets tackled in many kids films. this might seem like reading a bit much into it but I don't really see it that way. I grew up watching a certain set of films and tv shows growing up as a kid and those themes and images are still burned into my mind, and served as a way to see the world as I grew up. Different films meant different things at different times. who knows? maybe this one has a message that's worth something beneath all the dumb shit on the surface. maybe it has at least one saving grace.
pixar, stop fucking with hotwheels and give us something new you hacks [sp]and by "new" I mean toy story 4 and the incredibles 2[/sp]
I watch this trailer and it made Google Chrome crash.
It's a cliche as fuck sports plot where an athlete past his prime takes one last shot at the big leagues before retiring.
It must also end with the antagonist found cheating or gained absolutely nothing in value.
this will be the most profound movie in cinema history just you wait imbecsiles.
I was actually really excited for extremely gritty Cars movie, judging from the teaser trailer, at least for the laughs. This looks boring as hell.
Seems a little dark. Will there be a character arch that involves Lightning Mcqueen struggling with PTSD and suicidal depression? There should also be a subplot about a foreign Asian dictatorship that's genociding/dismantling all foreign built cars.
upgrade your parts you old red piece of shit youre a car /s

This movie feels actually soulless. Like, goddamn. Love how they also revealed 90% of the film in this trailer.
I really wanted McQueen with an eyepatch and filled with "scars" then he'd met some hardcore fanboy that wanted to race like him so the excuse of 'doing the same thing won't work' would apply and work in some ways. Can't expect much in the end
