Philippines' President Rodrigo Duterte has admitted he personally killed criminal suspects as mayor of Davao.
It is the first such admission he has made since becoming president in June, but echoes comments he made in 2015.
He ran the southern city for two decades, earning a reputation for cutting crime, and criticism for allegedly supporting death squads.
"In Davao I used to do it personally. Just to show to the guys [police] that if I can do it why can't you," he said.
"And I'd go around in Davao with a motorcycle, with a big bike around, and I would just patrol the streets, looking for trouble also. I was really looking for a confrontation so I could kill."
In 2015, he admitted killing at least three men suspected of kidnapping and rape in Davao.
Remind me again why a self-admitted murderer is 'good' for the philippines. Anybody?
Fucking psychopath.

Jesus fucking christ, what?
reminds me of Broseph_
What happened with him?
Also, I've heard this guy compared a lot to Trump but it seems like the comparison is running out because Trump, while a shady guy, can't compare to this level of shitbaggery
What happened with him?
If I'm not getting confused with someone else, he shot and killed two people and later bragged about it.

Didn't he shoot at a speeding getaway vehicle with a shotgun and brag about wounding 2 of it's passengers?
I didn't think he actually managed to kill them.

I think he did one of those vigilante justices and called it a thrill

A mild understatement.

To be honest I was rooting for Pablo Escobar in Narcos so....
Maybe this can work?
Fun fact: he also shot someone who mocked his origin during his time in law school (guy survived though)

Atleast Escobar had charisma.
There is nothing charismatic about Dutertard.

Yeah but he was a Nacro Terrorist...at least Dutertard isn't blowing up planes.
Jesus, this guy's a murderer.
How many people in the Philippines still support him unconditionally, I wonder?
hotline miami shit right there
It was all for his murder-boner all along :suicide::speedfap:
Remind me again why a self-admitted murderer is 'good' for the philippines. Anybody?
Fucking psychopath.
Because if you say he isn't good for the Phillipines he will find a way to label you a drug dealer next time you visit.
I kid....hopefully....but I imagine his crackdown on drugs by literally advocating, calling for the wholesale slaughter of user and dealer alike puts fear into any potential dissidents as well.
Where are all the "The media has just tricked you" supporters now? This guy is unhinged, due process and trials are a basic component of stable societies and this psycho is happy to not have that in his country.

I can see flags and Durtere bracelets everywhere here.
So my guess is, a lot.
People want him to do to the county try what he did to Davao. Yes it's harsh but it worked. The end justifies the means.

We all knew this already, but I'm surprised he actually admitted it so overtly. It's weird to think the President could be just a common serial killer if it weren't for politics.

A number of people in SH worked hard to convince us that we didn't actually know this already. Pretiacruento comes to mind.

keyword here is suspected

Trump's a corrupt dumbass, Duterte is a literal homicidal fascist psychopath.
I can't wait to hear from Facepunch's residential Duterte apologists on this. Come on, I want a bed time story about the horrors of the evil western media and how they take things out of context because they don't like a real man.
Holy shit what?!
I know that we already knew the dude was having people killed, but somehow it's far more chilling to hear that he personally murdered people.

Quite a lot. Unfortunately, a lot of people here seem to think that it's impossible to praise him for whatever good he's done while also criticizing him for... well, shit like this. It's always our ~glorious leader~ vs the ~evil media~ and a certain yellow party.
It's just really stupid tbh.
Forceful removal when?
Forceful removal when?
Not any time soon. The new US administration openly praises him, and he's heavily supported among the population of the country. We'll have to keep a close eye on him, though. This could very easily escalate into an authoritarian dictatorship.
I usually compared this guy to radio operators during the Rwandan Genocide - not killing anyone, but openly encouraging others to kill people and promising their protection.
Turns out, nope, he's actually a murderwr who is violating human rights on a massive scale. Wouldn't be upset if he got offed. Would prefer to see him face international court for crimes against humanity.
what if deute or w/e goes to kill someone and then that someone kills them
lmao fuck
