Los Angeles police detectives arrested "Glee" actor Mark Salling on Tuesday on suspicion of having child porn, authorities said.
Salling, 33, was arrested by the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force Tuesday morning, said Officer Tony Im. He was expected to be booked downtown.
"suspicion"
why's that even a thing?

being arrested doesn't instantly send you to prison, there's enough evidence to point at a possibility and now they're investigating it which might lead to a conviction

why arrest those suspected of murder
"suspicion"

Because a jury needs to see evidence that proves, beyond a reasonable doubt, that he's guilty, you can't just say 'x in possession of child porn' if it was just an allegation or tip-off, and nobody's seen that he has any. (Although many media outlets do that anyway)

You're not guilty until proven in a court of law regardless of the crime. Though these days no one seems to remember that.

Without it, you're just guilty without a fair trial. Not that it matters as even being under suspicion for something like this fucks him. Even if he is completely innocent.

I also want to be part of this quoting train.

Because tabloids need a juicy story. Watch him not actually be guilty of anything, doesn't matter now.
Unless he does in which case fuck him

Because there's still a chance he's innocent, but you don't let a murder suspect walk around town freely. Same case here I imagine.

Suspicion gets you arrested, and getting arrested may get journalists to write about you.
So that's why you can get to news because of a crime you might have done or might have not.

And the medias ability to ruin the life of innocent people for a saucy story is why modern media is cancer.

Guilty until proven innocent is concept in law, not in the real world. You wouldn't expect anyone who caught a burglar in their house to assume he was innocent until the court decided he was guilty.
That doesn't excuse the media from being reckless, but y'know.
