Here's a youtube link, that shows lyrics with the audio I'll see if you guys can catch the titles reference for the song =) Tell me what you think!... Haven't posted a song here for awhile. http://www.supload.com/listen?s=NcTnqR
I like the chords :D
Wrong place; try here http://www.facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=75 [editline]10:43AM[/editline] Pretty good nonetheless.
pretty good, i like your style
This is good. I wasn't expecting lyrics really, since most facepunch music-makers do not or can not sing. Gonna try to make an album and sell it?
^ This. [editline]07:27PM[/editline] Or go on an American Idol-like show and try out.
Wow, this is the best feedback I've ever gotten XD I really want to make an album. Totally would LOVE TO! Sadly, I don't have money to go to a studio or anything right now, I do stuff at my own house, on really shitty equipment, and surprisingly come up with what you just listened to. ... and again, thanks guys, I am working on lots of music... I'm just now starting to play a little bit around town, at the local bookstore. I have about 30 songs... =( If you guys want to ever listen to more, you can go to my myspace http://www.myspace.com/bobbyyarsl1k REALLY APPRECIATE YOU GUYS RIGHT NOW! SERIOUSLY.
Your pretty good, this isn't my music either but I listened to the whole thing, I think you have a whole heap of resources already available on the interwebz so don't worry about using a recording studio just yet.
That was pretty good, you have a nice singing voice.
i believe we'll be having a succesful musician at facepunch.
Thanks! Yeah, there are a lot of resources that are of use. Honestly, I really just need to update a few things in my home studio (not even really big updates, just equipment I SHOULD be using), and I'm fine working at home. Also, thanks for listening and appreciating, even if it isn't your style, it really means a bunch. Also also, is the rating system working? I've given all you guys a heart, but it still hasn't shown (or at least I can't see them...) I love this website, I think I will be staying for awhile, maybe you are right! :o)
I'm sure you could gather all of your quality songs and sell them in an album. Then you would have the money for a real studio :D
Is that purely your voice? Or did you filter it at all?
Amazing. You're really talented. Where did you get the inspiration to write this song ?
Is that purely your voice? Or did you filter it at all?
I'll be honest with you, I'm singing through my Clavinova keyboard. With that, I just get a tad bit a reverb (but nothing crazy, it's the reverb you hear, I didn't add any more audio effects in my audio program) EXCEPT... dun dun duuunn... In adobe audition, they have a pitch correction plugin built in. ... now, it has an 'automatic setting', and I usually put it on like 5-15 percent, just to catch like the ends of phrases and such. Other then what I just said, it's pretty much my voice yeah, it's not a great voice mind you (IMHO), but mine! [editline]06:35PM[/editline]
Amazing. You're really talented. Where did you get the inspiration to write this song ?
Thanks Onirik, your words mean a lot! The inspiration really came from my own relationship to put it pure and simple... ... and at the same time, I had recently been introduced to the Broadway version of "Young Frankenstein", so as I was writing the lyrics for Mary, the connection between my lyrics and the skeletal story of Frankenstein hit me once I reached the first portion of "That's why I'll bring you back". I then started to think about how Dr. Frankenstein put the parts together to make his creature, and I decided that that would make a sweet story about a guy putting together his girlfriend so he could keep her forever. So, that is basically what all inspired the song =)
If you made an album, I would buy it.
If you made an album, I would buy it.
I'll have to do some research... because I have the material to release one myself, I'll have to see how I can get it up on iTunes or something like that... anyone know anything like that?
Don't mix bass with piano, it really doesn't work well together. [editline]12:30AM[/editline] otherwise it's alright.

[editline]12:30AM[/editline] otherwise it's alright.
Really, you are probably right when it comes down to it. On the other hand, this particular mix I did... I accidentally went too heavy on the bass, and I had already saved the mix and canned the workfile =( This could be why it doesn't sound that well haha.... XD
you can just do the tones that you had on the bass on the piano and it'll sound much more cohesive I don't particularly like your voice (better than most peoples', that's for certain), but as a whole the song isn't bad

Thanks about the song! Yeah, I honestly can say I know my voice isn't the best, but with what I do I think I get by, haha!
Pretty good, I like the transition between singing faster then slowing down, calming song. Loved Derail too, I listen to it alot.
Pretty good, I like the transition between singing faster then slowing down, calming song.
Thanks DeandreT, I love that transition too, it's probably one of my favorite parts!!
So, that is basically what all inspired the song =)
Haha, I always like to learn the little stories behind a song, thanks for telling me. Then again, keep up the good work, I'd totally buy an album from you.

If I ever make an album guys, I will totally tell you! Still looking around about publishing mp3's online for download on iTunes or some shit like that.
