Nigga two hours? I could buy, try and return the game in less time.
God damn I love this guys work I'm excited to watch this later today.
This guy, mathewmetosis and superbunnyhop are great critiques
Review longer then average movie, Jesus. He really must like the game.
You should see his Uncharted/Last of Us series.
5 and a half hours long.
I don't like this new trend of two hour long video reviews. What happened to being concise? Not all people want to spend two to three hours watching something that could have been summed up in 20 minutes or less.
Then don't watch it and go look for a review that goes on for less time.

Haven't watched the entire video but sometimes having a long video helps. I mean some of my favorite videos are these types of reviews/rants like the Plinkett Reviews, YourMovieSucks, Matthewmatosis, Ahoy, SuperBunnyHop's critical closeups, or FP's very own PGunnii.
More ad revenue in a single video.
Or maybe people just enjoy going really in depth with their reviews?
I honestly see no problem with people making long, in depth reviews.

i can understand why you wouldn't be too into super long reviews, but i really don't think you could sum up what the video says in 20 min. and have it be the same. while concise reviews are handy, they're more for looking at the mechanics and general design, while joe instead goes through the game piece by piece and looks at almost everything the game has to offer, and unless the game doesn't have much to offer, you can't really make a 20 min. video out of it.

Why does it have to be for all people? Also, yeah, technically you can sum this video up under 20 minutes if, for example, you sum up his points about the shrines to just "the shrines were bad" but that's not why I watch Joseph Anderson.
Anyway, about the video: holy shit some of the footage he showed on the flurry rush segment was flat out embarrassing. As in I can't believe there was even any form of game testing done on the flurry rush mechanic embarrassing.
Plenty of other places shitting out reviews as soon as they can saying it's amazing, nice to have someone that actually gave himself time and thought about it.

then don't?
short reviews still exist fam
it's called catering to different people
Videos like these are meant to be put on the side to listen to if you don't have the time.

There's no "trend" There are like a million youtubers who do 5-10 minute reviews and maybe 5 who do hour long videos. Leave them be, please.

Noah is generally pretty good but his complete lack of basic production value and his sometimes inability to separate himself from the game bother me at times. Usually he does reviews very academically, but then you get ones like the Postal 2 review, where he blasts the game based on bad experience from his life, or the CoD World at War review where he claimed it was a celebration of war when the game is very unsubtly anti-war.
I don't know about this reviewer in particular.
But I often watch these longer reviews in the background and enjoy them.

Vampires was my favorite (in this sense). But every human has a right to his opinions, I don't think less of him for that.

Disclaimer: I haven't seen the video yet, however I do believe there can be serious discussion to be had about a game within a more reasonable timespan. My gold standard is still SuperBunnyHop, hell he dissected and explained all of MGS2 thoroughly within 40 mins a game that has leagues more depth than BoTW (Not downplaying BoTW at all), and usually his reviews rarely go past the 20 min mark. Even his BoTW review was within 15 mins:
